I got to try out my new cast iron skillet last night! SUCCESS!! I’m so in love with it! I bought a box of frozen Jennie-O turkey burgers yesterday and put my skillet on my stove top at a medium 6 and let it heat up for a bit. I sprayed on some cooking spray and then plopped my burgers on and let them go. I cooked both sides for about 5 minutes each and topped with some cheese. The only bad thing about the cast iron skillet is the smoke that it lets off. I don’t have a fan on our stove so I just cracked open some windows. It was cold though! Stupid Indiana weather left us all cold while I was cooking. Especially Max man 😉
The BF thinks he looks like a wizard in this picture. Gosh I love him so much!
Back to the burgers…they came out SoooooooOOOoooOoooO good. I may make another one tonight. They tasted just like I had cooked them outside on the grill. I paired the burg with some corn and a new flavor of Baked Lays that I found – Parmesan & Tuscan Herb (which were pretty good).
The best EVER Baked Lays flavor of chips were the Cool Ranch chips, but they mysteriously disappeared from all the grocery stores about 5 years ago. That was a sad day. I always try to find them every time I go to the grocery store, but they are never there. One day I hope they just appear again because everyone I know LOVED them. Maybe they found out something about the nutritional information that they had to pull them off the market. Does anyone remember the Baked Lays Cool Ranch chips??
After dinner, the BF and I went to Lifestyle to get a workout in. It was arm day again and I ROCKED it in the gym. My mind was completely in it and I was in the zone. I really impressed myself. At the gym, they only have the colorful dumbells which are made out of some type of rubber. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. Well for some reason I HATE the feeling of that rubber. I decided to buy weight gloves last week and tried them out for the first time last night. I am so happy I got these Reebok gloves. They help so much and I don’t feel as gross touching all the weights. No I’m not a germ freak either, I just hate the feeling of that rubber on the free weights!!! I seriously think the Reebok gloves gave me confidence too. I lifted way more than I normally do and loved every single second of it!
Please excuse my chipping pink nail polish. I’m so bad at taking polish off when it’s gone bad.
I then ran for a mile on the treadmill but that was hard. My legs were so heavy from doing my home leg workout on Monday that I felt like an obese cow of dead weight. I ran a mile though, so I was content with that. Overall that’s the best workout I’ve had in a while. I felt great leaving the gym!
We made Chocolate pineapple protein shakes when we got home. They consisted of frozen pineapple, chocolate whey & soy protein powder, skim milk and water. Pretty good, but I gave the second half to the BF. He’s like a garbage disposal for any type of food or drinks I don’t want. It’s pretty nice. There’s never any wasting going on in my house..which I’m very well known for buying way to much food and letting it go to waste. I’ve gotta work on that.
I wore my new Thriv shirt to the gym, that I won from the so sweet Amie over at The Healthy Apple. I absolutely love this new workout Tee. I think it’s going to be my new go-to shirt for working out. It’s so comfy and cute. The coolest part is that it’s made out of 50% bamboo! I’ve never even heard of bamboo in clothing, but it sure does a good job, because I’m so in love with this new shirt! Thanks Amie!!!
Later at night I got the munchies again and had a salt-free rice cake with low fat peanut butter. Gosh I love PB.
All in all, it was a great day filled with an okay day at work, great eats and an amazing workout. It feels good! Have a good Wednesday 🙂
