Buffett and a Girly Doberman

**So I wrote this post yesterday and thought I published it, but I guess I only saved it as a draft.  So I’m republishing it today.**

The weekend was a success.  Friday at work we had an ice cream social.  What?! I felt like I was in 5th grade all over again, but I acted like I was in 5th grade again with how fast I inhaled my free ice cream.  It’s so hard to turn down free stuff!  At lunch I went to Subway to try out the new Chicken Salad sandwich.

It was really good.  I’m glad they added something new to the menu.  I get so sick of the same thing.  The chicken salad was good though and not to bad for you either!

After work, I attempted to mow the lawn.  I say attempted because it was NOT pretty.  We had a couple of friends coming over later on Friday night so that I could spray tan them, and I wanted the lawn to be cut so I wasn’t embarrassed when they showed up.  Well, I’ve never mowed the lawn before, and didn’t know that using a push mower in SUPER tall grass was going to be insanely hard!  I was wearing old gym shoes and my heels started to get blisters almost immediately.  OUCH.  So today, I’m still dealing with these stupid circle scabs on my heels.  Never a good feeling.

I ended up accidentally leaving lots of random tall lines in the grass because I must have missed them…I’ve decided to never get into the lawn care business.  It’s just not my calling.  I didn’t even attempt to do the backyard.  I hope that’s the one and only time I ever have to battle my yard again.  I’m used to living in Chicago where yards are few and far to come across.  I used to miss the green grass in the city, but this made me have much more respect for the city life.

The BF and I went back to Lifestyle gym to work out a bit.  I wasn’t feeling it at all with my blisters and my sore muscles still from a few days before.  I lifted arms a bit and did some abs.  Right after that, I spray tanned a couple of friends and then the BF sprayed me so we could all be sexy and tan for the Buffett concert on Saturday.

Saturday’s Jimmy Buffett concert was fun.  All my planning worked out and everyone who came from Chicago and Indianapolis had a good time.  We had lawn seats so they were far away, but the most fun.  This picture is terrible, but it’s all I took on my phone.  I’ll have to wait for my friend to post the pictures she took.

I also did a swirly chair spinny shot.  I have no clue what they are called, but that’s what I’ll call it today.  My friend took a video of me doing it, but I’ll be courteous and only post the picture of the video so you get a better idea.  These dudes poured tequilla and some kinda mixer in my mouth and spun me around really fast in the chair.  It was a lotta fun and very much out of my element.  I’m a beer girl, ta-kill-ya isn’t really my style.  It was fun though…I can’t lie.

Unfortunately, the weather was rainy all day.  We toughed it out and didn’t try to let it affect us to much.  It never rained hard, so that’s good.  It was just an annoying spit on me type of rain.  Usually I say “either down pour or don’t rain, make up your mind mother nature”.  But in this case, I’m VERY happy it didn’t down pour.  Phew!

I brought burgers for us to grill at the concert.  I wish I could remember what kind they were, but they were out of a bag and frozen.  They were SOOOOOOOOO good!!!  Maybe I was just hungry, or maybe they really were that good. Since I ate it, I’ve been on a mission to go back to the store and find them again.  I even bought a cast iron skillet so I can try to add some different techniques to my cooking!  I’ll let you know how that goes.

Last night the BF and I did a home leg workout.  Today I’m sore once again.  I’m sick of being sore.  I just really need to stick with my lifting routine so that my body gets used to it and not sore anymore.  When the BF left afterwards to go play basketball with his buddies, I was at home with Max.  He decided it was a great night to be an annoying as crap dog and whine constantly.  He does this very high-pitched whine all the time and it drives us nuts.  This time I told him if he was going to keep whining like a girl ( no offense girls ), I’d turn him into one.  He kept whining, so needless to say, he became a feminine Doberman for the night.  He wore my over sized free Lane Bryant shirt that I got for free and a blue lei from the concert.  He wasn’t a fan, but I had a kick out of it.

He was embarrassed to show his face in the picture.  He wouldn’t look at me.  His outfit lasted until the BF got home and wanted no part in his “manly Doberman” to look like a chica anymore.  Oh the small things that entertain me 🙂

Tonight I’m hoping to work out at some point..but in reality I’m more excited to try out my cast iron skillet to cook dinner with.  It’s the main thing on my mind.  This blog has really changed me.  It’s funny how I get excited about things I would have never been excited about before.

I hope everyone is having a good week so far and staying dry if it’s raining as much by you as it is in Indy.
