I’m Moving Across The Country!!

I’m the kind of girl who didn’t move around when she was a kid.  I lived in the same house growing up for the most part.  I’m the kinda girl who doesn’t really handle big life changes very well.  I stress out to the max when my life’s “normal” gets turned upside down.  I am the type of girl who sticks to what she likes.  If I find a shirt I like, I buy it…in EVERY color.  When I find a food I like, I eat it…EVERY day.  I like routine.  I have two hair do’s….ponytail or down and straight.  I’m predictable.  I’m REALLY predictable.

Until now.

I currently live in Indianapolis, IN.  I’ve lived in the Midwest my whole life (between Chicago and Indiana back and forth).  In the past 5 years, I’ve decided that I HATE the winter.  I get depressed and fat every winter.  I live for the warm weather months.  I strive for the days I can be somewhere warm and near a beach.

That’s why I officially made the decision last night that we are MOVING ACROSS THE COUNTRY!!!!

Yep…I’m crazy.  This is SO unlike me.

Where am I going?

Here’s a hint…

Well I’ve always dreamed of living by the ocean and in a Southern state where it’s warmer (plus their cute Southern Charm is always a perk too!).  Living in the Midwest my whole life, I’m used to having seasons.  I wanted to go somewhere that still had seasons but where the winters weren’t so cold and snowy that the city actually closes down the roads and tells you not to go outside (this actually happened this past winter in Indianapolis!)  I’m over that junk.

For the past 2 years or so, I’ve fallen in love with Charleston, South Carolina.  I visited (see our visit when I decided I wanted to move there) and fell in love with the town.    I love the small town, beachy, Southern feel of the town.  The horse drawn carriages passing by every few minutes,  the beaches and the history you experience every time your downtown Charleston has stolen my heart.

Last night, Ryan and I officially took the next step and applied for a place to live!  We will be moving Labor day weekend!

Aside from the fact we have a LOT of work to do before then, I’m still excited.  We still have 5 houses that we have to finish renovating and renting or selling before we can leave but I’m so excited we took this initial step towards our big move.

So at the end of August, I’ll be completely stepping out of my comfort zone and moving over 700 miles across the country.  We don’t have any friends, family or JOBS lined up (anyone hiring? lol) but sometimes you have to take a risk in life, right?  You only live once and our one life is pretty damn short!!!

So if you’re following my Facebook page, you may see quite a bit about my move and now you know my story.  I hope you follow along my adventure because I sure as heck will need the support along the way!
