What is the most valuable lesson you have learned throughout your fitness journey?
Most valuable lesson I have learned throughout my fitness journey is that perfection is impossible. Even when i was in my best shape I remember thinking I wasn’t good enough. Everyone’s body is different and it is best to be happy with yourself. If you focus on health the rest will follow. Do  not compare yourself to others and do the best you can do with what you have been given.

If you could give a word of advice to an aspiring fitness model, what would you tell them?

One word of advice- don’t give up if the answer is NO. You won’t get every job, cover, or opportunity but stay positive and it will happen. One thing I have learned is that fitness does not define me, it is something I enjoy and will continue as long as it makes me happy and I have fun doing it. There are hundreds of great bodies and pretty faces, don’t get jaded in this industry and you will be just fine.

What’s your favorite motivational quote?

“The harder the battle the sweeter the victory!”

What’s your typical meal plan?

Typical meal plan (everyday maintenance)
meal 1: 1/3 cup oatmeal, 4 whites and 1 whole egg
meal 2: 1 scoop protein, water , 1 tbsp peanut butter and 2oz non fat yogurt (blend in a shake)
meal 3: 4oz ground turkey, 1/4 avocado, 1/3 cup jasmine rice
meal 4: 1 apple, 1 scoop protein with water
meal 5: 5 whites and 1 whole egg ( i love eggs- when I don’t eat eggs i will eat some sort of fish like tilapia or salmon with veggies)

How often do you do cardio and weight training?

Cardio almost everyday- 5 days a week and weight training at 3-4 times a week. Bikram yoga twice a week and hiking 1-2 times a week.

What’s your greatest fitness accomplishment, to date?

Greatest fitness accomplishment to date is when i placed top 5 at the 2010 Olympia…..it was the first time I cracked the top 5 after a lot of blood sweat and tears! Such an amazing feeling!

How do you juggle every day life with staying fit and healthy?

That is a tough one. You just have to be motivated to stick with it. Perfect example, I went to the gym on two occasions yesterday only to get a phone call and had to leave. I ended up going at 7pm that night unmotivated and tired. I still went and got it done….I felt great after and was so glad that i didn’t give up on that day. I remind myself that anytime I start letting life get in the way…it is going to happen but if you are prepared and don’t give up, staying fit and healthy IS possible.
What are your future goals?
Lots of future goals! I began motivational speaking last year and that has really taken off….I love it and have a huge passion for it. I also want to write a book and create a line of workouts DVD’s ! My goal is to stay active in fitness and create a bigger brand then what I have now. Going more mainstream and helping people on a broader scale.
Surprise us with a fun fact about you!
