Almost Time For The Bridge Run & A Sunsweet Review

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sunsweet Growers for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hey everyone! Hope you’re doing well on this fabulous Wednesday. It’s beautiful weather here in Charleston as of lately and I’ve been training a little bit for the Charleston Cooper River Bridge Run. It will be my first ever 10k race. I’ve done a TON of 5k races but never had the guts to try a 10k since I seriously don’t like running but this is one I’ve wanted to do for a long time since it’s over the famous Cooper River Bridge in Charleston (Remember my old post about running the Arthur Ravenel bridge? It’s the same one!)

Cooper River Bridge Run

Ugh..looking at that picture makes me nervous.  That’s a long way to run and doesn’t stop there.  It ends downtown Charleston.

When I say I’ve been “training” that means I’ve actually been going on a couple jogs here and there..which is more than my normal zero days of running a week.  For my training I have tried to follow this 10k running plan but as always, life got in the way and I had to modify it quite a bit with buying a new house and all.  I’ll have to show you it in another post soon and all the DIY projects I’ve been doing to it!

I’ve been going out for runs about twice a week and playing in an adult soccer league every Thursday which is an excellent workout to prep me for the 10k.  I wore my Apple watch one game and found that I run about 3 miles during one soccer game.  I love it!  So much better than just running with  no purpose.

Who’s with me on that?

So I recently was sent a new product to test out (being totally transparent here) and there’s a lot of times I’ll get products that I don’t love and won’t even mention.  Well this is one that I like a lot and wanted to share my Sunsweet review with you guys.

Sunsweet makes dried fruit that are perfect for snacking on.  For some reason it took me a while to open these bags to try once I had them, but after I opened them I can’t believe I waited so long.

Sunsweet Philippine Tropicals come in 4 different flavors:

Thai Coconut Chip Crunchy strips that would kick anyone’s chip craving or sweets craving.  They are delicious and very unique tasting.  I think they would be so amazing to add to Greek yogurt in the morning or even to give my oats some flavor and crunch.  They are very good just out of the bag too!

Philippine Green Mango – I wasn’t sure if I’d like mango but the two mango flavors ended up being my favorite!

Philippine Mango– Remember those fruit snacks that were “all natural” when growing up, these remind me of those but better tasting.  Again, I wasn’t so sure about the mango but I LOVED this one.

Philippine Pineapple – Pineapple is actually a new love of mine and these will be great to keep in my desk at work to snack on or for a little desert after lunch

They kinda taste like candy and I’m not joking.  The best part about the dried fruit is that they last a long time too..not like normal fruit.

As I was being the blogger that I am, I was taking a picture of the fruit in my hand to show you guys and little Levi was a bit obsessed with them too.  Since his treats normally come in a little bag that looks similar, I think he was thinking it was game time for him..but nope.  Sorry little Levi 🙂

There’s also a pretty sweet sweepstakes going on right now that Sunsweet is hosting… All you have to do is choose your favorite tropical destination from their choices as an entry to win! You are entered to win a trip to Paradise but can also win some of the weekly gift baskets if you don’t win the main prize or some beach gear so it’s worth a shot!  Just go to Sunsweet Find Your Paradise Sweepstakes to enter!

I’m curious…if you could pick ANY place for your dream tropical vacation, where would it be?  Leave a comment below!  My favorite spot is Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean.
