My Birthday and A Charleston Wedding At A Plantation

Heyyyoooo!!!  What’s up, my loves? It’s been a while since I’ve posted any updates about what’s going on with me lately so I figured a post was WAY overdue. Sorry about that!

So this past weekend I turned a year older. Boooo. Usually I hate my birthday but this year was different. I had SUCH an amazing birthday weekend.

Friday was my actual birthday so I spent most of my day at work (yeah I know…who works on their birthday?) but my adorable coworkers decorated my desk and got me some mini cupcakes.  We decided birthday calories don’t count as real calories.  Who’s with me?

Also, my oh-so-sweet mom had flowers delivered to my work!

My mom is the best. Every year on my birthday she gets flowers delivered to my office a day before my actual birthday so that everyone around knows that my birthday is the next day. She always wants everyone to know. It’s cute. The flowers were actually the prettiest flowers I’ve ever gotten. They were so full and the color combination was perfect. They were ordered from The Flower Cottage in Charleston, SC. I will have to remember this place for next time I need flowers because they were absolutely gorgeous!

Friday after work we went to my favorite bar in Charleston called Red’s Ice house. A bunch of my friend’s came out and we had some drinks and created some memories.

Saturday I had a wedding to go to. It was my first wedding I’ve been to in Charleston since I’ve lived here and the first time I’ve ever been to a plantation. Let me just say OH MY GOSH It was gorgeous. If you’re ever thinking about a destination wedding, consider a plantation wedding in Charleston, SC…For realz.

A Charleston Wedding at Magnolia Plantation

The wedding was held at the Magnolia Plantation at the Carriage House and Lawn. The ceremony itself was outside under beautiful oak trees with Spanish moss and lanterns hanging while overlooking the Ashley River.

Since it was a November wedding, the weather was in the 60s that day so it was absolutely perfect. From all the little details to the amazing food, I rate this wedding a big 10! I always try to remember things from each wedding that I go to which I’d like to use in my own wedding someday, and let me tell you, this wedding added a LOT to my list.

Note to self, Magnolia Plantation for a Charleston wedding is the real deal!!!!

I’m not normally much of a dancer but I don’t think I got off the dance floor all night, except to eat, of course!  I danced the night away with my cute boyfriend and made a ton of new friends.

Sunday consisted of my normal kickball routine. I’ll have to talk about that more in another post but I’ve been playing in an adult kickball league every Sunday for the past 4 months and it’s SOOOO much fun!

We ended up kicking butt in our game on Sunday and won 7-0. Afterwards we went to our normal bar called the Alley to watch Sunday football and we also got in a couple games of bowling. I bowled a 120 and 124. I used to average a 130 so I’m a bit rusty! Maybe I should join a bowling league too… oh the decisions!!!  If only there were more time in my days!

That’s just one of the random pictures of the after kickball shenanigans…  Ignore her Packers jersey underneath her sweatshirt.  She has to cover it up around me.  haha. GO BEARS!!!!

Overall I had the most amazing birthday weekend, thanks to my friends and family from a far. I felt so loved! My first Charleston wedding was a success too!

I hope everyone is having a good short week and are ready for some fun time with your family for Thanksgiving tomorrow!

HAPPY EARLY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!
