North Face Mountain Athletics Update

This post brought to you by The North Face. The content and opinions expressed below are that of Live Life Active.

Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a great week. So I just wanted to pop in to give a quick update about how my training has been going with the North Face Mountain Athletics app that I spoke about a while ago in this post (Mountain Athletics).

I used this app for the past few weeks to get me back into running. I go through phases where I love to lift then I love to run and right now I’m in a running/weight lifting combo phase and I blame the North Face Mountain Athletics for that one (in a good way of course!).

My favorite part of the app is that it gives me a plan. I have a super type A type of personality and love lists and plans. Having this app tell me exactly what to do to improve my running has been a blessing.

I didn’t do the full 6 week program but I used the Mountain Athletics fitness app for a couple weeks. Even though I haven’t done the full 6 weeks according to the plan in the app, it still helped me increase my endurance levels, drop a few pounds and I even feel a little stronger! My goal for using this app was to see if I could become a better runner in a few weeks by slowly increasing my cardio each week while still maintaining my muscle.

This app is great for that because even though I’m doing their running program, it still have several strength training days set aside each week.

I can only imagine following the 6 week program (for running, general fitness, climbing or skiing) would produce great results.

Oh yeah, rockin my North Face gear as always!

I’ve become a North Face addict lately. I went to see a 3d movie the other night and I learned a movie is much more cozy when you always bring along a Suprema Hoodie. Love that thing!!!

Anywayyyyyys, back on the subject…the app and my training…

My biggest downfall when it comes to training is staying motivated. I love having a plan like this that tells me what to do. It takes the guesswork out of everything…plus I like to be surprised and being a personal trainer myself, I like to have someone else write up my workouts for me for a change!

If you’re ever interested in participating in a FREE Mountain Athletic event, there are a ton of them around the country and happen every two weeks so you can start your own Mountain Athletics training regimen at any time!
