My Morning Wins & A Healthy Snack

Being outside of the corporate world has been quite the adjustment. It’s forced me to really buckle down and create a structured schedule in order to get everything done that I want to while I work on growing Live Life Active. The best part of not having a full time job at the moment is that I don’t have anyone telling me what to do! No more cruel bosses requesting a TPS report (office space.. anyone?) or coworkers stealing stuff off my desk.

So, I thought I’d share with you what my morning ritual typically looks like.

I’m all about setting a schedule and small goals for myself so that I can feel productive each and every day. Each time I dominate one of the things on my list, I always feel like it was a morning win!

time management

1.  Wake Up On Time

This is usually between 8-9am depending on what time I went to bed the night before. I’ve become quite the night owl so it varies.

 2.  Check Emails for Emergencies

Somehow there’s always some type of emergency that happens in the middle of the night.  I swear!

 3.  Have a snack if hungry

I truly believe in listening to my body. If I wake up and I’m not hungry, usually I won’t make myself eat. If I feel like I need energy, I’ll have a little carbs before my workout to make sure I have enough energy to get through a workout. Often times I wake up with energy and don’t eat until post workout. My body is good at telling me what it wants, so I LISTEN TO IT! Genius idea, right? Lol

4.  Workout

I like to set a workout goal for myself on most days. As I said earlier, I like to feel like I accomplished something, so I’ll either follow a workout that I wrote for myself or go into the gym with a calorie goal like I did today. For example, today I walked into the gym with no specific goal except to lift upper body and burn 500 calories. This forced me to do a little extra cardio at the end of my workout to hit my 500 calorie goal. After I hit that 500 mark, I considered that a #MorningWin.

 5.  Meal Replacement Shake

Post workout, I always make sure to have a protein and carb to fuel my body with energy and for muscle repair. I always stick to a shake because it has the perfect macros for me post workout and keeps me full until healthy snack time!

 6.  Shower with music

I love my post workout shower because I blast music and already feel accomplished because I got my workout in for the day. My absolute favorite way to listen to my morning jams is through my Bluetooth shower head. Seriously, the besssssst invention and looks awesome too.

 7.  BLOG & Healthy Snack

Now that all the fun and games are over, I get to work. I usually head over to our office area and set up shop for a few hours. If I don’t dedicate a time block to blogging, I won’t always get it done. I usually bring my laptop, earphones and a snack so that I can stay focused for about 4 hours.

My favorite healthy snack to bring to my office time is a coffee and belVita Bites. These little snacks are made with wholesome grains and slow releasing carbs. They are my new secret obsession & reward that I get to treat myself with when I blog and they taste amazing. Positive reinforcement is always good, right?  Also, they help me stay full for a good 4 hours so that helps!

8.  Respond to daily emails, Build Client workouts & Build Isagenix business

After I feel I have created enough content for my blog I move into daily emails, building client workouts (Join my team here!) and building my Isagenix business (want to work with me?).  These three things can easily fill up the rest of my evening, depending on how many clients and emails I have.  Also, building my Isagenix business is a never ending process but hey, I have over 1000 people on my team now so I guess my time block schedule is paying off!!!

If I can get through all the above in one day, I feel like I completely dominated my day and it was a complete #MorningWin for this girl.

Leave a comment below and let me know what you would consider your biggest morning win?  Is it just to get a workout in, make it through the 9-5 job or staying on point with your nutrition?  What’s your number 1 morning win??

  1. People used to steal stuff from your desk? Iv’e worked in an office off and on since 2007 and never had that problem! 😉
But it sounds like you’re living the dream. I can’t wait to be able to work for myself.

  2. I love those Belvita crackers they’re perfect and surprisingly filling. I like the blueberry and apple ones personally, the chocolate ones are a little chalky tasting. I think getting up in the morning is the biggest issue with me, I hate mornings, so it’s difficult to get motivated enough to do the rest, which I realize is also my biggest failing and why I don’t see more results.

  3. I’m absolutely loving your blog Erin. Having a ritual is so important when you are managing your own time and working for yourself – I really find that without having a plan like this, little distractions tend to get in the way and suddenly the whole day just goes!

Great post, though my schedule for today has totally been thrown off track from browsing all your old blogs for the last hour or so!
