What a FUN weekend! It was my best friend’s wedding in Chicago and we had such a fun time celebrating.
Friday night was the rehearsal dinner at Pizano’s pizza in Chi-town. It was really nice and of course the Chicago pizza was delish. One of the coolest parts of the wedding weekend was that the groom is from Germany. He had about 30-40 people fly in from all around the world to celebrate with us. It’s so fun to learn about other countries (and to hear how unusual American weddings are haha).
After dinner we headed back to the bride and groom’s house to continue the celebration. I probably stayed up a little too late considering I was a bridesmaid who had to wake up bright and early to start with hair & makeup!
Oh well..you only live once, right?!

Saturday morning started early with hair & makeup appointments at Charles Efergan Salon.
Excuse the no makeup pic below but this was after my hair appointment. I wasn’t sure about the hair style at first but it really grew on me and I ended up loving it.
It was just a messy low to the side updo. Alex from the salon rocked it!
Our dresses were long & strapless in a pale pink. It was extra long so I got to wear super tall shoes too 🙂
Then the wedding began. I didn’t trip walking down the aisle..thankfully!!!
The wedding was absolutely beautiful. The bride did such a great job with organizing everything.
Then we were off to bridal party pictures at North Avenue beach. That has always been my favorite spot for pictures in Chicago because the skyline is just breathtaking. We saw about 3 other wedding parties at the same location so I guess we were all on the same page.

After pics we headed to the reception at the Spiaggia. The jr. bridesmaids and I were in charge of the fun glowsticks. We broke those out and colored the dance floor. I love party favors..they make everything so much more fun!
It was so great catching up with old college friends.
Overall it was such an amazing wedding and I’m so happy for the lovely couple. It was so fun meeting all the family and friends from Germany and dancing on the dance floor to some crazy German songs 😉
