Patience Is Key

Happy Friday!!! I haven’t posted a personal blog post this week yet, so I thought I was due for one.

I took Tuesday and Thursday off as rest days this week but have hit the gym hard every other day.

In the past 6 months I’ve been really focusing on building my upper body.  Since I was a soccer player my entire life, my lower half tends to see results faster and my upper body is just way behind.  I have been lifting heavy and making sure to eat enough calories for the past 6  months in order to build my upper body and I think I’m finally starting to see a little progress.

Why is it so damn hard for me to take a picture of my back? haha.  The picture above took me about 10 tries to get a decent one.

Now I just need to clean up my diet a bit and hopefully I’ll see more definition!  Leave it to me to want to start cutting right before winter….usually you do the opposite!

I hit up Kroger this week and am trying to stay on track with my diet more than I have been lately.  I won’t lie…I’ve had a few too many treats lately and need to knock it off.

Some of my grub from this last weeks food prep.

I’ve been resorting back to my casein pudding before bed which is always a nice treat.

I also signed up to run in the Ditka Dash at Soldier Field in Chicago. Oh my gosh..I’ve never been so excited to run in a 5k before.  It’s over Thanksgiving weekend and every runner gets a free Ditka shirt, aviators and a mustache.  The race is followed up by a Mustache Bash with beers and live music.  I can’t waittttt to look like a fool and run at Solider Field.  I even bought the headband so I can look even more ridiculous!

I’m running in the Color Me Rad 5k this weekend and am super excited about it.

It’s supposed to be cold tomorrow morning but that’s fine for a run. I like cooler weather better to run in.  I’ll be sure to post pics to my Instagram account (username LiveLifeActive) so if you’re not connected with me on there, do it now!

Anyways, lately my life has been all about patience.  Making changes in your physique doesn’t happen over night.  It takes a LOT of work.  In order to grow, you need to build by eating more which can be frustrating for any female!  Hard work and staying consistent will pay off…just stay patient!

Max and Mya showed their patience this morning with treats on their side. Gosh they are some cool pups, aren’t they?!

Success takes preparation, time, hard work, consistency and PATIENCE.  Stay focused!  Have a great weekend!
