Fitness and Real Estate

First off, I need to say happy Hump day (aka pump day). That Geico commercial is still my favorite commercial of ALL TIME. I don’t know if anything will ever beat it. I laugh EVERY time I see it. “Mike..Mike..Mike…what day is it? Hummmpp dayyyyy!!!!!” (If you haven’t seen it, look it up on YouTube!)

The last two weeks have been insanely busy for me.  I’ve been trying to manage my full time job, my workouts and nutrition, getting a rental property ready for new tenants to move into and putting in offers on other places.  I’ve been going to my full time gig, going to the gym after work for about an hour and then immediately driving 30 minutes to the rental to clean and fix damages.  It’s been tough and I’m not getting much sleep.

On a better note…I finally tried out my new Bandi Belt.  This thing is really handy.  The folks at Bandi sent me one to try and I’m a fan.  It’s like an extremely cute and comfy undercover fanny pak for athletes.  You strap it around your hips and it kind of looks like the band of your shorts.  It has stretchy pockets so you can store your phone and key when you go for a run.

They sent me a fun snake design but they have every color you could imagine.  I don’t match but I don’t care 🙂  That’s how I roll.

The pocket can fit your iPhone and has a separate side for a credit card and key.  It was great.

When I was on my run I saw a huge bird…probably a dumb question but does anyone know what kind of bird this is?  I think it’s a turkey vulture…

I ran down to the path by the river.  It’s always a nice run around there.

I logged a quick 2.6 miles before we had to run to go see one of our friend’s houses that he just got done flipping.

I also got to try out my new Under Armour tank yesterday.  It was super soft and I like how it was loose around the arms/back and was long and flowy.  It’s called the Flow Tank.

In my real estate side of life, I fell in love with a house that was recently listed.  Now I know why they say to never let yourself get attached to a property.  Two days after it was listed, I put an offer in OVER asking price and apparently there were a lot of other bids and I got outbid.  Bummer!  We were going to do a quick flip to the house but I guess it wasn’t meant to be.  I’ll just keep searching for another one…

As I mentioned earlier, we have been trying to get one of our rentals ready for the new tenants to move in.  It has taken a LOT LOT LOT of cleaning and updating to get it back into shape.

Here are two of the many little updates done to the property.

We replaced the outdoor light with a new one.

And we updated the shower.  It was disgusting from the previous renters and was in need of a makeover.  The top picture is before, the bottom picture is not quite the end result but you get the idea.

MUCH better!

The neighborhood cat always comes to sit with us when we are doing construction.  We named her Connie the Construction Kitty.

What a cutie!

One more day of cleaning to go on the rental before the new tenants move in and then it’s time to search for a new investment property to fix and flip or rent out.  The life in the real estate world is never ending and always exciting 🙂

9 more days until I leave for Cali for vacation!  I need it badly!!!
