Hey everyone!!! I wanted to make a quick post about my fitness shoot I did last night! I trained hard for this shoot and learned a lot from it as well.
My day was BUSY BUSY BUSY. My shoot was on a Thursday night which was pretty hard to plan for. I also had to work a full day before the shoot..so it was go time as soon as the alarm hit 6:30am!
I woke up and my coach recommended I have PANCAKES! Yep, you read that right! After eating tilapia, chicken and asparagus for the past 12 weeks, the morning of my shoot he wanted me to have pancakes so I can start filling out my muscle. Umm….YES PLEASE!
Those were probably the best pancakes I will ever have in my lifetime. Just sayin…. YUM.
Then I worked all day and kept my water intake very low so I could lose the last bit of water weight while also filling up my muscle with the carbs and sugar I was having throughout the day. I’m not going to lie…I was super thirsty but took some sips whenever I felt like I needed to.
I got my makeup done at Mac Cosmetics. I couldn’t find anywhere to get it done so I figured Mac would be a good bet. Luckily she was able to squeeze me in. I didn’t know this but they don’t take makeup appointments there unless it’s the weekend. I guess I got lucky because the store was packed.
So I hurried home, snapped a couple pics and headed out to the shoot! I had a big old CHEESE on my face because I was EXCITED my shoot was finally here!
Apparently I need to learn the rules on how to take self pics…rule #1 is always clean the damn mirror before you take pics! Sorry guys!
So I was feeling great up until this point. I was excited, not too hungry and not terribly thirsty either. The photographer set up his lights and as soon as I got under those HOT HOT HOT lights while lifting weights and holding my poses, I started to really feel nauseous!! I’m guessing it was from the lack of water I had in me and the heat coming off those lights, but I had to keep taking breaks and drinking some water.
OMG I felt like such a premadonna and one of those model types who act like modeling is so hard. I guess I can relate now because I had a tough time with this shoot. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact it was a late evening shoot. It would have been much easier to do this type of shoot in the morning when I’m not fully depleted.
Oh well…I surived and I hope we got a couple good shots from this shoot. I’m sure we did though!!!
So as I wait to hear from the photographer with some of my pictures, here’s a recap of a few things I’ve learned throughout this shoot….
- Early morning shoots are better for me.
- If doing a night shoot, make sure to take in a little more water throughout the day.
- My photographer, Brian Weitzeil was and is AWESOME!
- I look better in a bikini than in workout clothing for a shoot….those workouts clothes just create too many bulges in places I don’t like. Bikinis make me look much longer and leaner! Next shoot…bikini for me!!!
- Spraying PAM on your body during a shoot really gives you a good sweaty look for a fitness shoot. Be careful when you walk around though..it’s SLICK and you may slip! (yes that ALMOST happened!)
- Pancakes taste AMAZING after eating clean with no cheats for so long! 🙂
I’ll post the pics as soon as I get them from my photographer!! Until then…here’s a sneek peak!
You look amazing! 🙂
Thank you!
