Sexiest Fitness Blogger

I randomly saw that I was entered in the top 10 sexiest fitness bloggers contest. I got #3!  (Third place seems to be a common placing for me lately!! haha) So random but thank you SneakerReport.com.  Here’s the link to the contest.

The blurb about me says:

“No. 3 – Erin

Blog: Live Life Active

It’s clear that Erin of Live Life Active is a real go getter, as the recent third place winner of the Bikini America Midwest Championships Tall Class. Her blog offers impressive before and after photos, lists of things she wants to accomplish, and an organized list of her personal cardio routines. The most useful part of Erin’s blog however, is probably her “My Favorites” tab, which breaks down the equipment she uses to stay fit.”

How sweet!!! What a nice surprise 🙂

Anyways, I’ve been super swamped with work and some other exciting projects I’m working on.  I haven’t posted much lately, sorry.

POST COMPETITION UPDATE

I wanted to write to give you guys an update on how my post competition time was coming along.  I’ve heard it was hard and that’s very true.  It’s been two weeks now since my first bikini competition and I’m not going to lie.   This post competition business is TOUGH.  I went from being 100093939% strict with my diet and exercise and hitting my peak. After that, it’s been very hard to get back on track.

It’s weird to see my body go from it’s peak to it’s normal state (which I’m happy with, don’t get me wrong!).  It’s just strange.  It’s so easy for the weight to creep back in quickly after the show.  It takes so long to drop it but so quickly to gain it back!  ahhh the joys of being a girl 😉

I’m still doing pretty decent but that fire under my ass isn’t quite there like it was to motivate me before. I haven’t missed a day in the gym since my competition, so that’s good at least!!

I’ve been eating about 70% clean.  I eat completely clean during the work day and then I tend to fall a little off track in the evenings.  Hey..I’m FAR from perfect and want to be honest with you guys!

I’ve gained about 10lbs since my competition so I’m back to my normal weight that I want to be at. I was expecting this weight gain because I know that competition weight is not healthy and I was completely depleted of water at the time.  I’m sure a lot of my weight gain is water weight..the rest is from all the other crap and cheat meals from after the show!

I’m hoping to just stay on track and maintain where I’m at now. I’d like to keep eating clean but allowing myself with treats when I want them.  I’ve learned that restricting myself too much just makes me want to binge on everything possible. When I allow myself to have small portions of what I want, then I don’t crave it and don’t feel like it’s off limits.  Now that’s a healthy balance!

I’m going to set a new fitness goal for myself soon.  I’ll be going on a vacation to the Caribbean in mid-November so maybe I’ll shoot for getting leaner again by then. I’m not too worried about this trip though.  It’s a family trip…no pressure to look good 😉 Gotta love that!!

Since I wrote last, I tried my FIRST ever yoga class! It was…..different. It was just a basic class that was offered at my gym. To be honest, I didn’t really like it.  I had no problem with any of the posing and felt very relaxed, but I left super sleepy and couldn’t snap out of it for the rest of the day.

I just feel like if I have an hour to spend at the gym, I’d rather do something more challenging and get my heart rate up.  I understand it’s good for stress and relaxation, but I just don’t think it’s for me.

I do have to try a hot yoga class at least once though since that’s on my list of 101 things to do in 1001 days! I don’t see how sweating like a beast would be fun though…eh oh well..I’ll still give it a shot someday soon!

  1. That’s crazy about the weight you’ve regained. Your photos from before/after don’t look much different! And good luck in finding balance in your diet. It’s hard to do, but SO important.

  2. I also can’t get into yoga, even though it seems like it’s “all the rage” right now. I do one yoga video, which is just for stretching hamstrings/lower back & hips – as a runner i love this video. It’s just some basic stretching positions, but I get such a good stretch when I do this video I keep doing it – even though the guys voice makes me crazy, and the willowy music makes me want to stab someone. 😉

  3. Just curious-where do you do put your phone while working out? I’ve always used small little nanos and shuffles. Now I got my big ole phone I use for music and can’t decide what to do with it?

    • I actually have one of those arm bands that fits my phone. It’s frickin huge but I don’t like working out without my phone because it has my music, polar HRM data and my phone! I also don’t like holding my phone or putting it down my pants, so the arm band is the route I try to roll with 😉
