My First Bikini Competition – Part 3

If you missed the first part of the story, you can read Part 1 and Part 2 here.

Where did I leave off…..

In between the morning and evening show, my mom and step-dad came to visit me at the hotel.  I told them I didn’t want them coming to the show because it would make me even more nervous than I already was.   My mom decided to stop by the hotel to see me instead.  As a typical mom would do, she begged me to let her come to the evening show, and I felt bad and gave in.

She was so happy which made me happy.

We touched up my tan, put on my teeny tiny bikini and a black robe and headed back over to Harper College where the show was taking place.

By the way… I originally bought my suit online and then blinged it out with a TON of Swarovski diamonds.  My suit was mint green so I bought some gems that were the same color as my suit as well as a dark blue to add a color.  It turned out really good and I loved it!

The dressing room was a madhouse throughout the day.  When girls competed in more than one category, they would have to run back stage and change as quick as possible and head right back on stage.  It was a fun experience though.  Everyone was so nice back stage.  I met a ton of new people.  There were so many nice things being said back and forth between competitors.  I complimented several people who I had never met before and the same was done in return.  Even if you were sitting next to your competition, it didn’t matter…everyone seemed to get along!

I was worried about the cattiness backstage between the girls, but there was NONE.  Thank God!

The routine was the same for the evening show.  When it was my turn, I walked on stage and did the “T-Walk” again.  This time around, my legs weren’t shaking nearly as bad, but they were still shaking for sure.

I was MUCH calmer for the evening show since I had already gone on stage once.   I think I was a bit less nervous this time also because I didn’t have to worry about using my prop like in the themewear round.  I just had to concentrate on my walk and keeping a smile on my face.

As I was doing my walk, I could hear her my mom’s loud “WooOOoooos!!!”  I looked up into the audience to see my boyfriend, mom and step-dad with big smiles on their faces.  My mom looked so happy to be there .  Then I saw someone sitting next to my mom and it was one of my best girlfriends who came to surprise me!  I was shocked to see her and I had a genuine laugh/smile that caught me off guard and totally settled my nerves a bit.

Good thing I practiced my walk so much because my poses were like second nature to me at this point.  I was finally at a point of just having FUN on stage!  I didn’t think that would be possible, but it was and it happened 🙂

After my individual walk and the comparison line-up, I threw on my robe and flip-flops and headed to the audience to watch the rest of the show with my family.  The bikini girls had a while to wait around before the awards ceremony.

Right before the awards ceremony, we got a huge group shot of all the competitors.  I’m in the back row, 5th from the left 🙂

Then…it was time for the awards ceremony.

We were called out by our classes and of course bikini tall was the last to be called on stage.

All 14 of us bikini tall girls lined up on stage and faced the judges one last time.  Only the top 5 girls would be called out and given trophies.   I wasn’t expecting to be in the top 5, so all I kept thinking about was how I was excited to get to eat pizza soon!

To be continued…. (Update: Here is part 4)
