9 Days Out And My Body Fat Percentage

I feel like I have been running around like a mad woman these past few days. I have so much on my to-do list before I leave for Chicago next week for my first fitness competition!

I took a scheduled rest day yesterday.  I know you probably think I”m crazy for taking a rest day when I’m only 9 days out from my first bikini competition, but the body NEEDS rest in order to grow!

I also spent time last night prepping MORE food.

When I was 20 days out from this competition, my boyfriend decided he would be supportive and do the whole clean eating/6 meals a day thing with me to help me get through the last push of dieting.

How awesome is my boyfriend for doing that???

Turns out….he LOVES clean eating even more than I do.  He has been raving about it non-stop.  He loves the changes he’s seen in his body for the past 10 days from just eating clean.  I think I created a clean monster…which is a good thing probably.  The only down side of him eating clean is that I have to prep 3 times more food because he’s about 6’5 and needs a LOT of food!!

I spent last night prepping food for us. We grilled about 3 lbs of chicken (which somehow seems to almost be gone already…weird), 4 lbs of asparagus, boiled 3 dozen eggs and 2lbs of green beans.  That should get us through the weekend. haha. I know it’s ridiculous!

By the way, BREAKING NEWS….if you are following me on my Facebook Page, you probably already know…but Sam’s Club is now selling Jelly Ass!  haha 🙂

I also got attacked by the Lululemon monster yesterday. It sucked me in!  They just had too much cute stuff in the store and some on sale!  I needed a couple new items to wear in my photo shoot for the fitness magazine that’s on Sunday.

I got some light grey pants that are reversible, a grey headband, purple running shorts and a black sports bra!  My workout wardrobe is slowly seeing much more Lulu…but my wallet is slowly becoming much smaller.  Boo!

Thanks to Little B and Rachel who responded to my post yesterday, I was able to score some cheap new eyelashes from CVS made by Ardell and they are much more manageable.  They are much lighter and I think I will do much better with those than the expensive MAC ones. Strange how expensive isn’t always better, right?  Thanks for the tip on those lashes, ladies!!! Now, lets pray I can get them on and keep them on!

I went to the gym last night with my boyfriend to do our first yoga class (EVER!!) but the class was cancelled.  So, instead, I asked a trainer to test my body fat.  He did a 7 point skin fold test on me.  I think this was the most accurate I’ve ever had my body fat tested.

Normally I’ll grab the stupid handheld devices at the gym to get a reading, but those are SO inaccurate!

I REALLY want to get a bod-pod done soon.

Anyway… Here were my stats from my caliper skinfold body fat testing:

  • Body Fat: 17.07%
  • Lean Weight: 99.5lbs
  • Density: 1.059

He said the average body fat for a female my age is 24.35%. My numbers are looking pretty good!  I honestly don’t want to go much lower than this because I think I’m in a healthy range. I’m curious to see how my last week of dieting/training would change my body fat though. Maybe I’ll get it checked again right before I leave for my competition?!?

Gosh..I’m such a numbers geek.

I’m going to leave you with a sneak peek photo from my fitness photo shoot last weekend!

It was SOOOO much fun getting my hair & makeup done for a shoot and actually being a PAID model!  How crazy! I want to do it again!!!

I felt like a celebrity at the soccer park.  Everyone kept slowing down to look at us.  They were probably hoping I’d be someone famous..but it was just little old me!

I’ll be posting random posts and pictures the day of my show so you guys can follow along, but it’s way easier to post to my Facebook Page..so make sure to follow me there if you’d like to stay updated!

  1. Do you cook all of your food for the week or what not and then store it in containers and reheat it? I am always looking for ways to reduce the amount I have to cook! Good luck at your competition!
