10 Days Until Show Time!

I’m 10 Days Out From My First Bikini Competition!!!

Holy craaaaaaaaaaaap I’m only 10 days away from my first fitness competition. I am freaking out a bit over here. I’m so nervous and excited to get the show on the road.

I’ve also been planning the fun stuff for after my show. I plan on going out in Chicago with my best friends and my entire plan is focused around what I’m going to eat right after the show. Can you blame me? haha.

I’m planning on getting some deep dish pizza in Chicago of course. I’m going straight to the pizza place from my competition and my girls are meeting me there. Yay! I can’t wait for that.

BUT…That means I have to get through the last 10 days of training, dieting and walk that stage in 10 days. It feels totally surreal to me right now. I feel like I’m talking about this competition as if it’s not really going to be ME up there. I hope I don’t have a panic attack or something the night before the show. hah! You never know!!!

Am I really doing this??? 10 days away, 10 days!!!

I’ve been strict with my diet and workouts. I didn’t even have a cheat meal last weekend. I may have dabbled into a few pieces of chocolate or extra carbs too late, but nothing like my normal cheat meals I’m used to having.

I miss you, pizza and mexican food.

I have SO much to do before the show. I made a huge to-do list of what I have to do and what I have to pack for Chicago. It’s a LONG list especially since this is my first time and I don’t really know what I will actually need or not.  My dining room table has been the designated “competition packing table”.  It calms me down a little when I can start getting stuff together early.

The problem with doing this though, is that I always over pack when I start packing so early.  Oh well…better to be over prepared than forget something, right?

I also need to learn how to wear fake eyelashes.  I tried them on and I felt like a spider had taken over my eyes.  The MAC lashes were way too long.  I need to figure them out or cut them down.  I’m not girly enough to know how to do stuff like this.  HELP!

I also tested out my stage tan color on my stomach last night.  I bought some Jan Tana and Dream Tan to get dark on stage.  Jan Tana worked great, and  Dream Tan got me really dark but it was a MESS!  It was like a paint.  Any time you touch it, it rubs off a bit.  I’m not sure if I’ll end up using that stuff or not but I’m glad I tested it out first.

I also need to figure out how to do my makeup because it will have to match my dark body.  I need to figure out how to do dark foundation and smokey eyes.

Soooo much on my mind right now..sorry if I’m rambling.

I’m not totally happy with my body yet, but I always hear the week before the competition you see the most changes. I hope my coach does some miraculous changes to my diet and workouts next week so I can see some abs!

On top of planning for this competition and being super busy, I have my photo shoot with that local magazine on Sunday! I have no idea what I’m going to wear for that yet. I really haven’t thought about it. I told him I want to have pictures with a bright white back drop. Hopefully I can pull some outfits together. Gosh….I wish I had more Lululemon at times like these….oh well!

Anyway…I’m doing 5 days of cardio a week right now and the treadmill/elliptical/StairMaster are getting super boring. I decided to take my cardio to the soccer field last night and I absolutely loved the change up!

I miss soccer so much. I found this amazing soccer complex and was able to get a good workout with just myself, a soccer ball and 2 goals.

I’m excited to hit the field again. They also have a HUGE hill there that I’m debating on doing sprints on for my HIIT workout later on this week.

Am I crazy??

The next 10 days are probably going to fly by!!!

Alright kiddos…sorry for the long post.  Have a great day!!!

  1. Hey. I agree 100%. Use Ardell. I used to be a competitive ballroom dancer so I’m very familiar with all of the fun prep stuff you have to do.

    Makeup:
Foundation – If you want to buy drugstore brand, I am a big fan of the Revlon sport foundation. It’s sweat proof which is great for under the lights. I buy two different colors and try to match once I’m tanned. If you don’t mind spending a little more money, tan and go to MAC to get matched.

Eye Make up – Remember that once you’re super dark, your features will disappear. Especially up on stage. If you think you’re wearing too much makeup, it’s probably just enough. I used to do white eyeshadow in the inner corners of my eye and then black smoked out. I preferred liquid liner because again, it won’t budge as you start to sweat. Lots of eyeliner, add the lashes, add mascara. If the lashes feel uncomfortable, it’s normally because they’re too long along the eye. They shouldn’t be too close to the center or out past your lid. If you don’t like the lashes hitting your checks, Ardell makes some great extra thick and dark ones that aren’t too long.

Lipstick – I always go with a shade of red. I think pink doesn’t always look the best on dark skin.

    Tanning:
I have been using Sun Laboratories for tanner although I’m sure the ones you have are fine as well. I will literally paint on the tanner and then stand in my underwear by my desk for about 30 minutes until I think it’s dry.

Hope some of that helps. If you need anything else, I happen to live in Chicago, so just let me know.
    Good luck!!
    Rachel
