Domo & Food Prep

Have you ever been to a Japanese restaurant where they cook your food in front of you?  I’ve been known to be one of the pickiest eaters in the universe, so visiting this type of place this past weekend was a new experience for me!  The restaurant was called Domo.

It was so fun!  The chef cooked up all of our meals at our table and did a bunch of tricks with the food and his knives.  The only time I have ever seen something like this was on 40 Year Old Virgin and The Office…anyone see those classic episodes? haaaah!  Benihana Christmas was one of my favorite episodes!  I miss Michael Scott….

I had this as one of my cheat meals this past weekend for my friend’s 30th birthday dinner.  It was a blast.  I got the steak and enjoyed all the side dishes that came with the dinner.  My boyfriend and I also ordered a roll of sushi.  Sushi is VERY knew to me too.  I tried some roll that had RAW salmon in it.  My boyfriend played it safe and didn’t tell me that it was raw until after we finished eating it.  He knows me too well.

I was able to knock out a few of my goals by this little birthday celebration!  🙂

101 in 1001 goals completed:

  • #1. Go to and EAT AT an unusual restaurant (Japanese)
  • #3. Try 20 new restaurants (2 out of 20 completed – Domo Restaurant)
  • #4. Try 25 new foods (10 out of 25 completed – Raw Salmon!)

After a fun filled weekend, I’m back on track with my goals in mind.  I have officially scheduled my first fitness photoshoot with a local magazine for Sept. 15th!

So exciting and scary at the same time!!!

That’s 26 days from today!!! My competition is 33 days away! Wow..now that’s some motivation to kick my butt into high gear and kick ass this week.

I started my week off right with my Sunday food prep last night.

My week’s meals will consist of:

I’m sure I missed some stuff but that’s the majority of what’s on my menu this week.

It’s Monday, have you set your goals and prepped your food for the week?

  1. Your meal plan sounds very ‘prepping’ 😉 I havent prepped yet – payday is tomorrow so I’ll have to get all my fresh veggies and ingredients then. Im excited for your shoot and competition!!Not many women can say they’ve done either one!

  2. I’ve been to quite a few hibachi bars. They’re really fun if you’re in a big group of a range of people because it’s entertaining for everyone.

I’ve been begging my parents to let me take them to one. My dad is a little weird about asian food.

  3. I’ve been to several hibachi type resturants. A new one just opened up near our home.. We went – I wasn’t impressed. It’s hard to find something healthy to eat on the menu, and it was REALLY loud, and that’s just not my thing. I LOVE sushi. LOVE.
