Reverse Lunge With A Hop

Happy Monday!  I now have two weekends in a row under my belt that were ALCOHOL FREE!!!  I love it 🙂  I had an intense shoulders and cardio workout Friday after work which was followed by a complete rest day on Saturday.   On Sunday, I was back in the gym for a glutes/hams & HIIT cardio workout.

My.poor.booty!

I was introduced to a new exercise on Sunday.  Have you ever tried reverse lunges with a hop?

I have done reverse lunges a million times, but never tried to end each lunge with an explosive hop.  It added a TON and I really felt it in my glutes!

I held a 30lb barbell on my shoulders, did a reverse lunge but when I came up, I exploded into a hop on my front leg.  I did 10 reverse lunge hops on each leg for 3 sets.  It was amazing and my heart rate was through the roof!

On Saturday, my boyfriend and I went to eat at Chilli’s for my weekly cheat meal and then to the movies to see Ted.  It was a perfect date night 🙂  Ted was a hilarious movie.  There’s something about a vulgar yet adorable talking teddy bear that was just hilarious.

As for my cheat meal, it was also was frickin’ amazing.

I’d have to say Chilli’s is my favorite restaurant.  Anyone else with me on that one?

I ended up eating a TON at Chilli’s.  I went a bit overboard as always.  That’s why I can’t go there for every cheat.  I also had some reese’s pieces at the movies, so I decided that power combo was enough to count for my two cheat meals combined.  So…I ended up technically having only one massive cheat meal this past week…but honestly I think I ate enough for a small family…so I’m okay with that 😉

Now that it’s Monday, it’s a perfect time to set new goals for yourself and kick this week’s A$$!!
