Do Your Goals Scare You?

My chest, and tris are so so so sore from Monday’s workout. I always have the most motivation on Monday’s and always have the best lifts on that day. I’m thinking I should change it up to my shoulder/ab day so I can hit those the hardest since those are the areas that need the most work.

I’d be PUMPED if my shoulders and abs were as sore as my chest and tris are right now!

This week has been pretty uneventful so far…that’s why I haven’t posted much.

Monday I lifted chest/triceps as I said above..and then did 20 minutes on the treadmill. I did 30 second sprints at 9mph, with 30 seconds off the treadmill each time for rest.

Tuesday I did a booty lift workout and I thought I was gonna lose my cookies at the gym. All the squats, lunges, leg presses had me nauseous! I’m not sore yet but I’m assuming it’s going to creep up on me soon and be pretty brutal!

Today I plan on lifting back and biceps at lunch and doing some cardio tonight after work.

I’ve eaten 100% clean food this week as well, so I’m rockin the crap outta this week so far 🙂

My coach suggested that I do a fitness competition. I know I’ve been throwing around this idea for a while, but I just can’t decide if I should do it!  I’ve always been indecisive and this is a perfect example.

I’m just terrified of getting up on stage, but that’s the main reason why I want to do it too. I want to prove to myself that I can do something that terrifies me so much. I feel like I should step out of my comfort zone and push passed my limits. I’ve never challenged my body as much as I would need to…which is intriguing to me.

I’ve mentioned this saying before but here it is again…

“If your goals don’t scare you, then they aren’t big enough.”

Competing scares the living crap out of me…so I guess that’s a good goal…right?

I don’t know if I’ll do it..but I need to decide soon!

Hope you guys are having a great week!

  1. I have hit a similar option that I never really looked into until a friend pointed it out to me. He pointed out doing a fitness competition as I avidly workout on a daily basis, routine for my life. I battled the same issue as I am rather shy despite my full confidence in my capabilities. New goals are always good especially the ones that poke at your fears as they can only make you stronger. Working out becomes routine and change can influence new goals and hit parts needing to be tackled that have been put on the back burner. I still hesitate as I hate losing and having that shown on a stage can be disappointing for the moment. I would encourage doing it but trying to hit that next stage in your fitness life to perfect anything necessary. The hard part for most things is the mental aspect and that’s really what it all comes down to. Being able to release the mental block and fear of stage presence will unlock the gate to so much more capabilities mentally. Thus transforming your body and hitting other necessary goals. I highly recommend doing it but go confident and prepared both mentally and physically.
    Good Luck!
