Weekend Wedding and Rollerblading

I finally have a minute to sit back and breathe!  I feel like I’ve been going NON STOP since Thursday.  I took off work last Thursday and Friday because one of my best girlfriends got married in Chicago.

It’s been busy but fun!

After work on Wednesday, I took the time to try my first at home shellac FRENCH manicure.  It was so hard to do but it turned out pretty decent.  I’m loving this at home shellacing 🙂

I headed to Chicago on Friday afternoon and headed straight to the rehersal.  It was at a beautiful country club in my hometown.  I love the feeling of being “home”,  it brings back so many fun memories.  🙂

We then went to the rehearsal dinner at a great pizza place.  You can’t go to Chicago without getting some pizza..that’s a must!

Saturday morning came early and it was time for prepping for the big wedding.  I was a bridesmaid so we all went to get our hair done early.  I loved my hair 🙂  It was a low messy side up-do.  I wish I could do it like this myself!  I have one hairstyle…down and straight.  I’m boring.

Then it was time for pictures.  We took them outside and it was HOT! The pics are going to turn out beautiful though.  The scenery was unbelievable!

Then we had a couple hours to kill before the wedding…so we obviously calmed our nerves with several cocktails to help us walk down the aisle.  This is the second wedding I’ve been in where the bridesmaids walk down the aisle by themselves without a groomsmen.  I would MUCH rather walk with a dude so I could hold onto him if I tripped!

Luckily I made it down the aisle without tripping over my dress or falling from a high heel malfunction.  Phew!

Here’s the adorable couple who got hitched!

The reception was a blast.  It was so fun to see old high school friends that I haven’t seen in years!!!!

Sunday came quickly and it was time to meet my dad in the city for lunch.  What do you think he requested we ate?!?! Pizza of course.  I had quite a bit of pizza this past weekend but that’s expected when I go home.

I had a great lunch with my family at Pequods Pizza (soooooooooooo good), then had to make the long trip home.

Needless to say…it was a fat but fun weekend!!!!

Last night I was dieing to go rollerblading for some reason.  I was thinking about it all day.  I made sure I lifted chest & triceps on my lunch break so that I’d have time to go rollerblading for cardio after work.

When I got home from work, I got all dressed and ready to go blading for the first time in YEARS only to find my blades were broken.  Within an hour I was walking out of Dick’s Sporting Goods with some new sweet rollerblades 🙂  Yeah..you can say I REALLY had the urge to go rollerblading!

It was so much fun and such a great change of pace to running or doing the eliptical.  It was also an AMAZING workout!!!

Here are the rollerblades I ended up buying and they fit great and were so fun to cruise around my neighborhood on!

Cute huh!?

Quit laughing…I know rollerblades are completely old school, but I’m bringing them back! 🙂

Check out my stats for my quick 21 minute rollerblading session.

I burned 243 calories in 21 minutes.  That’s more than I burn running 2 miles! Usually I burn about 100 calories a mile when running and running is not fun at all.  I was able to keep an average heart rate of 170 without even feeling like I was exercising.  That’s the best form of exercise, right!?!?

When is the last time you went rollerblading?

I think YOU should help me bring them back 🙂
