Lunch Leg Workout

So the last post I left you with showed me having fun in the sun in my new backyard baby pool…right??!?!

Well….there will be no more pool parties for this girl. Thanks to this puppy…

I left the pool in the backyard while I was at work on Monday and came home to this.

Noooooooo! I’m so bummed out! Mya must have scratched at it or had a pool party while the parent’s were at work 😉  Or maybe it was that awesome pink nail she has that had something to do with it…I’ll never know! 

I may just have to get another one though because it was fun while it lasted.

I decided to take off work tomorrow and Friday. I will probably lay out in the backyard still….without my sweet pool. Sorry I’m still bitter about this! Can you tell?

I can’t wait to have a few days off of work. It will be a busy few days though. We are going to a barbecue tonight to meet my boyfriend’s nephew for the FIRST time. He was born a year ago (tomorrow) and lives in Germany so we haven’t gotten to meet the little fella yet. I’m excited!!!

I squeezed in a lunch workout today because I knew I’d be busy with the BBQ later today.

Here’s a look at what I did today for leg day.

  • Superset of olympic bar squats (3×15) & barbell reverse lunges (3×20)
  • Superset of jump lunges (3×20) & calf presses on the incline leg press (3×20)
  • Box jumps on a bench (3×10)
  • Romanian Dead Lifts (3×15)
  • Superset of hip adductors (3×15) and hip abductors (3×15)

I followed up the leg workout with a little bit of cardio. I just did 5 minutes of walking on the treadmill followed by 10 minutes of jogging at 6mph. I had a good sweat going so I’m happy with my quick workout at lunch 🙂

I’m hoping to be able to make it to the gym a few times while I’m off for the next couple days, but for some reason it’s really hard for me to stay on my clean eating and workout schedule when I’m not working. It must be the structure and routine I have nailed down during a working day. It always seems like I can get more done on a working day than a day off.

I just get unmotivated when I’m off..it’s so weird!! It should be the other way around because I have all the free time in the world! Who knows….I’m a weird one!

Are you more likely to make it to the gym on a work day or a non-work day?

  1. I took off this upcoming Friday, but I’ve already made plans to go before I get busy that day. So, regardless if I’m off or not, I do make an extra effort to go!

  2. It’s not just you, I am the same way about finding motivation on the weekends. Going to the gym after work is part of my routine everyday, so it is something that I don’t even have to think about. On the weekends I would rather relax and do something fun instead of sticking to my regular work routine.

  3. Work out when you feel the most energized mentally and physically. I workout when I feel the most energized regardless of time, i.e. it could be early morning, late morning or early afternoon.

    The most important thing is to be energized mentally and rested. Chaio. HF

  4. What did you expect Erin? Really, he (I think your dog’s a he!?) couldn’t resist because he’s a doberman pinscher! I’m sure he couldn’t resist biting the pool at least once! LOL! Oh, well…live and learn. I bet he feels bad that mommy is unhappy with him now. 🙁 :0) Chaio. HF
