Feed The Machine!

I’m still patiently awaiting a phone call to let me know if I’ve won this contest or not.  I don’t think I can wait much longer so the phone better ring soon!!! The contest host called on Thursday to make sure one last time that IF I win, I’ll be able to go on the trip and that nothing will mysteriously prevent me from being able to go.  UMMMM NO SIR! I will be there 10393%.  He said I should know the results VERY SOON and he stressed the words VERY SOON.  It’s VERY SOON now, sir….. 🙂

He totally got my hopes up on Thursday by asking those questions.  If we don’t win now..I’m going to be sadder than sad!

I’ve never been so attached to my phone before.  I feel like a little Jr. high school girl waiting for her newest boyfriend to call.  Every time it rings, I get all excited!  Almost every time it’s rang, it’s been my Mom calling…saying “Did you hear from them yet?!??!?!”.  haha.  I have replied again and again to my mom with “You will be the first person I call when I find out, so ease up a bit on all the calls!!”.  I know where I get it from now!

I hope you had a great Easter weekend.  I sure did! We went to my boyfriend’s home town.  His mom always throws a huge Easter celebration.  I got assigned to making all the goodie bags for the kids.  I had to make 30.  That means there were about 30 kids plus all their parents and other family/friends who didn’t have kids.  The house was PACKED!

I had my cheat meal day on Sunday.  I had a bit of everything plus another one.  I dominated a piece of cheese cake too.  I immediately regretted it after I was stuck in a sugar coma for the rest of the afternoon. I also tried a new beer called Leinenkugel Summer Shandy.  It was SOO good.  It tasted like lemonade.  It was the perfect summer beer!

Now I’m back to my clean eating and hitting the gym hard.  Here’s some pics of a few of my eats lately.  My metabolism is seriously on fire and I’m always hungry.  FEED THE MACHINE!

This looks nasty but it has been a common lunch for me lately. Chicken breast mixed with sweet potato. I am not the best cook and my chicken is always dry so this does the trick!

I’ve become obsessed with Nike shirts lately.  I LOOOOOVE these tank-tops.  I think they are so comfy, aren’t too tight and fit really well.  I have found them lately at Marshalls, TJMaxx and Sports Authority.

My newest one is this orange baby!  I never wear orange and I loved it!

Here’s a look at a random food log I’ve submitted to my coach.   I know it’s boring but I’ve tried to change my mindset of being OBSESSED with food to thinking that food is just fuel.  I’ve been trying to take the emotional side of eating out of it and just eat what I need to eat.  It’s been working so far!

Tuesday Time 4/3/12
Meal 1 7:45 1 slice ezekiel toast, 1 tbs natural peanut butter, 4 egg whites, 4 strawberries, 1 coffee
Meal 2 11:20 GNC Total Lean shake meal replacement
Meal 3 1:20 4 oz chicken, 1/4 sweet potato, 1/2 orange, 4 asparagus, 8 brussel sprouts (veggies were roasted in EVOO)
Meal 4 3:20 2 oz celery, 2 oz carrots, Greek Yogurt (plain flavor), 1/2 oz box of raisins
  4:15 Gym (legs, core & 20 steady state cardio on arc trainer)
Meal 5 6 4 oz chicken, 10 brussel sprouts, 4 asparagus (veggies were roasted in extra virgin olive oil)
Meal 6 8:00 2 hard boiled eggs, 9 almonds, 3 oz french green beans

Water: 144oz

Do you have an emotional connection with food? Or do you just eat food because you need to?

I have always been a HUGE emotional eater.  If I’m sad, I eat.  If I’m stressed, I eat.  If I did something I didn’t want to, I feel like I deserve to eat whatever my heart desires because I did something I didn’t want to do.  Yeah…I’m a big baby.  I am getting better at looking at food as fuel though!
