Indy has transformed for the superbowl!

We made it downtown Indianapolis last night to see the superbowl events.  It was so amazing!!! It was like a huge festival where there was drinking allowed on the streets, huge crowds, nice weather, zip lines over the main road and concerts on every corner! What a fun time.

We ended up walking around, having a few beers and then checking out the NFL Experience.  The NFL Experience is a hands-on event in the huge convention center.  There were people trying to kick field goals, throw footballs in targets, measuring their hand’s to other NFL players hand’s, famous NFL players signing autographs and many other cool things.

I’m very glad we ventured downtown to see how Indy has totally transformed.  It looks amazing and I hope all of the visitors will enjoy 🙂

There was even fireworks that went off around 9pm.  I love fireworks!!

The weather was amazeballs! Seriously! I know I talked about this yesterday, but this weather is UNREAL!!!

Before all of the fun, I hit the gym and lifted shoulders, chest and triceps.  Here’s a glance at what I did.

I got this workout from Lee Lebrada’s 12-week Lean Body Trainer.  So far I’ve completed day 1 and day 2.  I want to give the workout a full week of trying it out before I fully commit myself to it.  Here’s the plan, if you’re interested.

The only thing I don’t like about the plan is that there are no off days.  They consider a day where you only do cardio, an off day.  I don’t consider that an off day, Lee! That’s bogus!

I’m still on a search to find a new program to dedicate myself to so I can continue to stay focused with my workouts. Anyone have any ideas?

I’ve been researching P90x and Insanity but I don’t want to lose any hard earned muscle I’ve gained from doing Jamie Eason’s 12-week program.

Has anyone ever done P90x or Insanity? Anyone have any advice as to which one is better?

  1. We did P90x, I really did love it. I don’t know if you would lose muscle though, I was building muscle.. maybe not the lean muscle you build with Jamie’s workout, but they are really good workouts..

I think that once you have a good fat burning muscle base, like you do, doing the P90x won’t burn it away, but what do I know. It just sounds logical.

  2. Hey! Just found your blog today! I just started Live Fit (day 4 tomorrow) and am wondering what that app is on your phone that tracks calories burned, etc. Do you need a heart monitor for that?

    Thanks!

    • Courtney, thanks for checking out my blog! Congrats on starting LiveFit, it’s a great program! The two things I use to track my workouts are a Polar FT4 heart rate monitor (with chest strap) and Nike + for my cardio. The polar watch tracks my entire workout, while the Nike+ only tracks my distance/time/calories burned. The one thing I’d recommend getting is a heart rate monitor (especially by phase 2). You’ll want to know what zone you’re in and when you need to speed up or slow down.

The image I posted on this post was just a screenshot I took on my iphone of the workout from the bodybuilding.com website.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

  3. Erin-

Given your enjoyment of the LiveFit Trainer, I think you’d really like one of the NROL (New Rules of Lifting) programs. If you purchase either book (the male or female version), they have a years supply of workouts and its set up to do progressively in stages like the LifeFit program. I’ve only done the regular NROL version but I find the information in the book invaluable and the workouts challenging. I picked mine up a couple of years ago on sale at B&N. But this is the link, so you know which I’m referring to. http://www.amazon.com/New-Rules-Lifting-Maximum-Muscle/dp/1583332383
