Morning Workout

Now that the holidays are officially over, it’s now back to the grind.  After a good weekend, it’s time to kick my butt into gear and get my body into bikini mode.  I officially have only 18 days until I leave for my cruise to the Bahamas with my boyfriend and 4 of our other friends.

Yep..it’s about that time to kick it up a notch!  Mission Bikini Babe in full force.

But first, I’ll tell ya a little bit about my weekend.

I stayed in on Friday night and we continued to clean and do housework for our Saturday night New Years Eve party.  We literally had a list of about 20 things that we wanted to get done on Friday and Saturday and I’m happy to say we got everything done just in time!!! I can’t even believe it.

Our NYE party was a success.  One of our friends ended up getting appendicitis the night before and and had to have surgery on new years eve.  Because he wasn’t well, it caused several people to miss our party.  We had less people than we expected but still had a full house for sure.  We played some beer pong, drinking games, and even a game we made up called “guess who’s new years resolutions”.  I felt like we were back in college, but let me tell ya..the “guess who’s new years resolutions” game was pretty hilarious.

When people have some booze in them, they get pretty clever.

Sunday was full of cleaning up the tornado that came through my house and watching a movie.  I decided to let Ryan pick the movie 100% because I always get to watch what I want.  He chose the movie Margin Call.

It was okay…nothing to rave about.

Monday we ran around returning Christmas presents and doing errands.  I’ve been in my house for over a year now and on Monday I finally unpacked the rest of my boxes.

How sad is that.  I just finally moved in…over a year later.

Wait a minute..I still have a few boxes in the office.  Never mind.  Fail.

Now that my cruise is coming up sooooo soon…I decided to kick off the work week with a morning workout! I’ve never gone to the gym before work so this was completely new to me.

It was hard to pack everything that I would need to workout, shower and change to go to work.  It was also hard to estimate exactly how much time I would need to make it to work in time.  I ended up remembering everything and predicting my time perfectly!

I actually enjoyed working out before work.  I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot already and it’ sonly 9:20 am!  Plus…I get to go home after work now and spend time with my pups Max and Mya.

This morning, I completed Day 72 – Back/Abs/Cardio on Jamie Eason’s LiveFit program.  I loved this workout! It also helped that I go to the gym at 5:30 and was able to do my 7 exercise circuit with no people stealing my machines.

Here’s a look at the circuit I did.  I did these 7 exercises all in a row and then rested after completing them all.  I did the circuit 3 times.

EXERCISE
1
 Barbell Deadlift: 20 reps
 Bent-over barbell Row: 20 reps
 Wide-grip Lat Pulldown: 20 reps
 Seated Cable Row: 20 reps
 Hyperextension: 20 reps
Roman Chair Leg Raise: 20 reps
 Air Bike: 50 reps

Due to the fact my gym was pretty empty, each circuit only took about 10 minutes to complete.  The whole weight training portion of this workout took me about 30 minutes to complete.

After lifting I hit the treadmill and did 30 minutes of HIIT training.  I started with 2:1 intervals at about 7.0mph.  I would run 2 minutes then hop off for 1 minute.  I ended up changing to 1:1 intervals for 30 seconds each.  I kept my speed at 8mph.

Then I did another 10 minutes on the elliptical.  Total cardio was 40 minutes.

The entire workout took me 1:12 and I burned 737 calories.

Please excuse my dry hands.  It’s frickin’ cold out today.  Now excuse me while I go moisturize 🙂

Have a good day!

  1. Nice work with your workout! I love going before work, and actually loathe going afterwards.. there are too many people in there after work.. bleh. I will have to brave all those people today though, because I was too sleepy to go to the gym this morning.
