The Wrath of Ms. Cranky Pants

  • Yesterday I was feeling all fine and dandy, until I found out that I may not be able to take a half day off work tomorrow to head to Chicago.  I then immediately turned into Ms. Cranky Pants.  I hate how one small thing can be a game changer in my mood.

Ms. Cranky Pants made her first poor decision when she left work and decided the gym wasn’t for her.  She’d rather go home and take a nap.

I went home and found Max (my Doberman Pinscher) laying on the leather couch that he’s not supposed to be on.  For that, he caught the wrath of Ms. Cranky Pants and had to put his nose in the corner for 5 minutes.

I then drifted off into a nap.  I woke up to my boyfriend coming home from work and somehow I then ended up here…

We went to the Formosa Seafood Buffet.  Who goes to a buffet on a weekday? I think we may be the only couple who loves to stuff their faces as much as we do.  We were both in funky moods from work, so food therapy always helps.

This is a new place that we’ve been wanting to try lately.  It was $13.99 each for dinner.  I am not really a seafood fan, so I always hope they have a little bit of American food there too to satisfy the little 8 year old taste buds that I have.

The decor was all Asian’d out and pretty nice for a buffet.  Asian’d out? Whatever…just roll with it…

There wasn’t a ton of American food there…but I was still able to stuff my face and eat enough to feed the entire Gosselin family.  Seriously? Who talks about Kate + 8 these days? I need to get a life.

I tried a few new foods there.  I tried some steamed salmon which tasted pretty good until I turned it over and saw the “fishy scaley” side to it.  That was the end of that.

They also had fried sushi and fried corn.  The sushi was okay..but of course the fried corn was delish!

We got entirely too full. Like the unhealthy type of full.  I just wanted to lay on the floor at the buffet and take a nap.  Classy.

Earlier in the week I mentioned that I had a huge to-do list before I headed back to the Windy City for Christmas.  Well, I’ve pretty much dominated that list at this point.  Good job, Erin!

All I have left to do is finish packing and date night tonight!

Ryan is a great boyfriend and bought me a manicure to start off our date night tonight.  Not only did he buy me a manicure, he got the shellac type manicure which is supposed to last a couple weeks.  I’ll be the judge of that though…

After my manicure we have our date night which I have had to stop him from telling me what we’re doing about 932 times this week.  He is so bad at keeping surprises from me.  He said it’s nothing big, but I’m just glad he’s taking the initiative to plan something and I want to be surprised for once…whatever it is!

Hopefully we can spend some nice time together tonight before we go our separate ways for the holidays.

This morning I got to work and found this cute oven mit, lint roller and card on my desk from my sweet boss.  She got me a lint roller because she always catches me removing lint from my clothing with my scotch tape at my desk.  I believe the classiest blogger award goes to me today.  Just sayin…

And a nice male co-worker came over this morning and gave me a single red rose for Christmas.  So sweet of him!

Sorry for the long post, just one more thing to mention.  If you haven’t noticed already, I’ve added a new section to my blog called 101 in 1001.  You can see it at the top.

This is a list of 101 personal goals I want to complete in the next 1001 days.  I feel that keeping a list (you know lists are my favorite!) will hold me accountable.  I’ll try to blog about stuff when I check them off the list.

You may start to see sections in my post showing goals that have been completed that day.

As for this post….

101 in 1001 goals completed:

  • Try a new restaurant: Formosa Seafood Buffet
  • Try new foods: Steamed Salmon, Fried Sushi & Fried Corn
  • Date night with Ryan (1/10)

It’s now official…I am leaving early tomorrow from work to head back to Chicago for Christmas.  After all this..Ms. Cranky Pants was around for no reason at all yesterday.
