Couponing for Chicken

Friday I thought I’d wipe off my old couponing skills and get down to business.  My goal was to obviously spend as little money as possible and use couponing to get some free & healthy stuff.  I used to coupon a LOT but I was never able to get anything too healthy for free.  This trip, my goal was to get some chicken for cheap or free.

I headed over to Marsh because they were having their triple coupon event where every coupon is tripled up to a dollar.  I always try to go whenever Marsh has this event because I can usually come home with a big haul.

Here’s everything I brought home from my trip.  My grand total was only 65 cents!

I got 8 YoCrunch yogurts with fun toppings in them.

4 Deans Lite French Onion dip.  Hopefully we have enough Christmas parties we can bring these to this year.  There’s no way my boyfriend and I are going to eat this much…but hey they were free!

2 Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers.  I love trying new stuff out!

1 Colgate Optic White toothpaste.

2 tubs of I can’t believe it’s not butter (Light).

4 cans of Swanson Chicken Broth (99% fat free).

Everything listed above was absolutely free.  I actually made money off of them because my coupons were worth more than the products themselves.  After the items above, I had about $7 in overages to use in the store.  I figured, I could use those overages to spend on something that is healthy.  Typically you don’t see coupons for fresh meat, so I headed over to the chicken aisle and grabbed $6.98 worth of chicken!

I got almost 4 lbs of chicken.

After checking out, my grand total was $.65!! That’s after tax and everything.  Pretty flippin sweet, huh?!?

Do you ever use coupons? It’s so addicting!
