Welcome back to the best day of the work week. FRIDAY!!!
Yesterday I was a cheater…no I didn’t cheat on my boyfriend..I cheated on Jamie Eason’s plan. We had a work Christmas party at lunch and there was sooo much good food there. I tried to fill up on veggies, fruit and turkey, but somehow some delish cheesy potatoes mysteriously appeared on my plate. I scarfed my whole plate down and proceeded to have my second plate filled with amazing desserts. I couldn’t resist the sweets! I had some oreo dirt pudding, brownie, 4 of my salty kisses and some candy bark. They were SOOOOO good except for the fact it put me in a sugar coma for the rest of the afternoon.
Everyone LOVED my Salty Kisses snacks though. I got so many compliments on them and everyone asked for the recipe.
It’s so hard to turn down delicious homemade food sometimes. On the positive side though…a year or two ago I would have filled my plate with everything but fruit and veggies. I would have had the worst things for you and would have had no idea. I even found myself going for the green beans with nothing added to them (from what I could see) instead of the ones that looked like they were swimming in a cheesy mystery.
Now that the holidays are here, I often get asked if I want desserts or candy from co-workers. I always feel bad saying no, but I always do. I wish there was a way that I could take one to be nice and then just throw it out. Is that bad?
We had a White Elephant gift exchange after the lunch. It was so funny to see some of the funny gifts like a Justin Bieber singing toothbrush, a Pabst Blue Ribbon sign, The Rock VHS and book, and a Mr. Hanky christmas CD (you know, that piece of sh!t from South Park..literally, the poo!).
After work I had a guilty concious because of all the sweets I just loaded up on. I headed straight to the gym for a pretty good workout!
It was day 58 – Back/Arms/Abs/Sprints. It was a tough workout, but I wouldn’t say it was as tough as Day 59 or Day 57 (yes, I had to move them around so they are out of order).
The lifting session took about 55 minutes and then I did sprints for 30 min. I did the first 5 minutes on a treadmill that sounded like it was going to explode any second. I don’t know what was up with it, but it sounded like it was on it’s last leg. Maybe I was going so fast that it was goign to explode? Hah okay maybe not 🙂 After 5 min, I switched to another treadmill to finish the sprints. I started at 8.3mph for the sprints and then did a pyramid type of speed increases. Each sprint I would raise the speed by .1. I went up to 9 and then when I got to 9 I would decrease the speed every minute by .1 back down to 8. I ended up going from 8.3 to 9 to 8 to 9.
My heart rate monitor stopped working in the middle of the session so I don’t know a completely accurate calorie count but it told me I burned 611 calories when it was working. So I’m guessing it was even a little more than that..depending on how long it wasn’t working before I noticed.
One exercise that was new to me today was the Exercise Ball Pull-In. I had never done these before. They were a little strange to get used to at first, but they really worked your abs and I could tell that it was working a ton of stabilizing muscles by holding yourself up and keeping my balance!
I hope I looked remotely close to this guy in the picture. I felt like I had that form, but I would have loved to see what I actually looked like. haha that reminds me of this funny graphic of what I feel like I look like when I workout vs what I actually look like. 🙂
As for the weekend, I’ll probably workout and stay in tonight. Tomorrow my friends from Chicago may come to visit! Yay!!! Saturday we have to go to a Christmas party for a little bit and then probably out downtown for some fun. I’m so glad my girlfriends aren’t the dancing type because I sure as hell am NOT. I usually get drunk and think I’m a good dancer….and really look like an f’d up alien…probably like this…
Have a great weekend everyone!

um guess what I made last night!? Your salty kisses 🙂 everyone here at work LOVES them, so thank you so very much for sharing that.. Also I will post about it on Sunday, obvi giving you credit for your amazing recipe 🙂
Awesome!! I’m so glad you liked them. They were a huge hit at my work party too!
I’m an AWFUL dancer. That being said, I run in a group of girls who like to drink a wee bit too much and we’ll have our own, horrific, uncoordinated dance party wherever we may be standing…
haha I love it Amy! I could fit right in with your group 🙂
Those salty kisses are delicious! I like to use hugs (white chocolate) and top them with a second pretzel so it’s more of a kiss sandwich. And those pictures of the comparisons are hilarious, I absolutely feel that way all the time!
