Chicago Festivals Never Get Old

This past weekend I decided to make a trip to Chicago with my BF and one of his friends.  We planned on going to the beach and festivals on Saturday.  The beach was quickly thrown out as an option because of the crappy weather we were expecting.  We got to Chicago at about 10am on Saturday and the beers started flowing.  We went to the Old Town Wells on Wells festival and walked around for a bit and ended up at a bar called Burtons. This bar had HUGE drinks.  I think they were 32 ounces.  I stuck with beer, but a lot of the group got huge mixed drinks.  I can’t drink that much hard alcohol…I get extremely stupid and it turns into me not being able to stand up or make any sense.  I’d rather keep my two feet on the ground, so I stick with beer 🙂

From the looks of some of my pictures it looks like we were at a petting zoo..but nope, these horses and BULL where outside chillin by the bars.  This is probably not a good place to insert 400 lb Bull with 2 feet Horns.  Who ever thought to put a live bull outside with a bunch of drunks…probably was drunk.

Luckily I made it out alive.  I also found this little cutie who I just had to take a picture with because it’s a mini Doberman.  He looks just like my dog Max, but mini! He jumped right in my lap and I felt like it was love at first sight 🙂

We also got to watch some of the World Cup.  I’ve always been a soccer player so I love the game.  I really don’t know much about this years World Cup teams though.  I need to educate myself more on the teams and players so I can get more into it.  I played soccer from the age of 5 until college, and then was a soccer trainer full time after college.  I miss it…

As for working out, I had a lazy weekend.  I wanted to go to the gym on Friday night, but my body was still sore from Body Pump at Lifestyle Gym.  That proves how much it really worked my body if I was sore for several days after.  I think tonight I may try the Les Mills BodyAttack class.  It’s supposed to be the hardest Les Mills class, I just hope I have enough coordination to follow along with all the cardio moves.  If I do the class, I’ll be sure to wear my heart rate monitor to see how much it gets my heart racing!

Have a good Monday everyone!
