Changing My Routine

It was another busy weekend for this girl.  Friday night I stayed in and relaxed which was great.  I slept in on Saturday until about 11 and woke up to cook the BF and I some bacon, egg and cheese omelets.  They were really good.  I’m finally getting better at making omelets.  My omelets used to turn into scrambled eggs because I could never fold them right.  I’m learning the technique.  I then showered and got ready and headed over to a 2 year old’s bday party.  Right after that we went to my friends couples shower.  I ended up just buying a picture frame for the couple that said love words all around it.  We thought we would only be there for a couple of hours, but it turned into a whole day/night party.  We partied out in the backyard and on the porch and it didn’t rain at all..woohoo.  We played many drinking games and I had a lotta fun!

Sunday night, the BF and I went to see the movie Date Night.  I know the movie got mixed reviews, but I liked it.  Steve Carell is one of my favorites, so it was hilarious watching him dance around like a stripper and act like a gangster with a gun.  We also went to Cancun Mexican Restaurant and it was really really good. We will go back there for sure.  We got the sampler with a taco, enchilada and burrito.  It was way to much for me to eat, but it was yummmy.  Can’t go wrong with Mexican food.

This week, the BF and I are thinking about doing a trial at a gym.  We figured we’d go try out several gyms in the area and see if we like any of them.  Usually you can get a week membership at some, so we’re going to see how long we can go on free trial memberships.  Hopefully we’ll start our free trials this week.  Who knows, we may end up signing at one.  He really wants one that’s 24 hours but I think I could be okay with just my treadmill and free weights at home. We’ll see.

In good news, I’m only 2.4 lbs away from my goal weight!!!  That’s insane and I’m so proud of myself.  I’ve now lost 14 lbs from when I started in early February.  I think most of my success has come from blogging!  I love it!!  I am very happy with the way I look and feel and am okay staying where I’m at right now.

If I do this trial at the gym, I’m going to change my focus into lifting more and cardio less.  I want to see how toned I can get and how my body reacts to more lifting instead.  I did it once and loved the results, so I want to try it again.   I’m going to try not to weigh myself as regularly if I do this, because it’s a crazy mind game when lifting.  I can’t judge my body on my number anymore, I just have to go based off of looks and how I feel.  I’m excited 🙂  I’ve got to set some new goals for myself now to change up my routine.

  1. Way to go on almost reaching your goal!

And also for developing a talent in making omelets- mine usually turn into scrambles as well. I think after much frustration, I just realized it’s not me, it’s the pan. I need a smaller one. Or at least that’s where I’m placing the blame…
