Shred & Tread

Thanks for the ideas yesterday about the couples shower I’m going to this weekend.  I think I’ll just bring a card and a little gift (maybe a bottle of wine or something).  I don’t want to be the only one showing up empty-handed!

Tuesday morning was very hectic in the office, so I truthfully didn’t have any time to even eat breakfast!  Somehow I managed to not go crazy and didn’t turn into bitchy Erin either.  My dad passed down that gene to me.  If I don’t get food when I’m hungry, WATCH OUT! All was good though, but I wish I would’ve had time to eat bfast.  It’s never good to skip the most important meal of the day.

For lunch, I grabbed a chef’s salad from our cafeteria and added some fat free french dressing.  It had chicken, ham and turkey in the salad.  I don’t know the nutritional facts of the exact salad, but I’m sure it wasn’t good.  Oh well.

I also ran to Target at lunch to get a few things and grabbed a pre-packaged apples and caramel pack.  SOOOO STINKIN GOOD.

After work I made the BF and I some omelets for dinner.  I used my last egg beaters cup for mine and real eggs in his.  I used some Morning Star Chicken Patty’s to add to the omelet.  It turned out great…except the whole time I kept thinking that it was weird that I was eating the Chicken AND the Egg.  I don’t think I’ve ever had a chicken and egg omelet, but the BF and I both liked it, so we’re going to add that to our regular list.  Then again, it was a Morning Star patty, so I guess it wasn’t technically Chicken.

I also had some of my recent obsession: strawberries and sugar.

I also decided to Shred last night.  I wanted to change it up this time so I brought Jillian, my yoga mat, weights and Mac into my treadmill room/office.  I put Jillian on my classy futon and decided to do the workout in the workout room so I can incorporate some heavier cardio in the routine.

(Can you see Jillian over there on the futon? My treadmill is to the bottom right in the picture)

Instead of doing the jump ropes and butt kicks, I think running is better for cardio.  For the three sessions of cardio in the Shred, I did the first at 6mph, second at 6.5mph and the last at 7mph for the 2 minute cardio sessions.  It sure worked me out wayyyy better.  Every time we would go into the abs section, I would put my treadmill on pause and it kept track of my stats for the 6 minutes I was running.  Just in the cardio portion alone, I ran about .75 miles and burned 75 calories.  I think this is much higher than if I were to do Jillian’s cardio.  I’ll have to do this again because I really liked it.  The Shred level 1 gave me a good sweat!  We’ll call this my Shred & Tread.

After that, apparently I couldn’t get enough Jillian, so I watched the Biggeset Loser.  I was so proud of the contestants.  They ran a 5k this week and one of them ran it in about 21 minutes.  He totally dominated my time!!  I thought I did good, but he did REALLY good and is still very overweight.  It made me realize that anyone can do anything they put their mind to.  I’m voting for that guy to win..he sure proved himself to me that episode..however the grey team will win, I’m sure.

Well, tonight we are grilling out at our friend’s place.  We’re having burgers, hotdogs, chips, beans and potato salad.  YUM YUM.

My boss just asked me if I wanted to go pick up the cakes that we have for our co-worker who is leaving us.  Any time I can leave work, I’m in! As for the cake…not sure if I’m in 😉

Have a good Wednesday.

  1. Sometimes I mix up the Jillian intervals, too- but alot of that has to do with I’m not coordinated enough to do a jumping lunge quite yet…

I’m the cake delivery girl, too. My boss apologizes every time he asks for a volunteer- but I jump on it as an excuse to get out and move around for awhile. I also do beer runs when necessary for the office. Love it. 🙂

    • Nope, the red thing is just a rug and the pink thing on top is a yoga mat.

The caramel apples were AWESOME and only 70 calories for the pack 😉

      • Ahhh ok, I can see that now lol I don’t know why the way I was looking at it looked like a funky table and loved it. It’s still cute though, I’ve never seen a yoga mat with designs—funky 🙂
