Interval Running (HIIT)

Sorry I missed posting yesterday.  I’m stressing out over here from my new job.  When I got hired here and moved from Chicago to Indianapolis, my boss told me I would be working on call every third weekend because there were three of us on the team.  Now, the woman who has been here for 15 years is leaving.  I have been forced to try to learn everything she has learned in the past 15 years in about 2 weeks.  I’m pretty much freaking out because it’s not possible.  The worst part about it all is that now I’ll be rotating on call every other week because we only have two on our team now.  I’m PISSED about that.  It’s not what I took the job thinking.  If I would’ve known that, I wouldn’t have taken the job.  I have a life outside of work and don’t want to be stuck working every other weekend.  I’m upset about it and told my boss yesterday.  She worked around it by taking some of my weekends when I already had stuff planned.  I guess I have to just suck it up and realize that you have to compromise once in a while at work.  I guess I’m lucky she’s willing to take some of my weekends for me at least.  Also, she said this 2 week rotation may be permanent because she may not hire someone else full time. WHAT THE HECK!?!?! Ughh…please stick with me if I’m a little more scattered with my posts here in the near future.

Anyways, sorry about that.  I had to get it out.  This past weekend was pretty fun.  Friday night I stayed in and the bf went to work on the flip some more.  Saturday we woke up and went shopping at the mall and headed back to his  home town to see his family and our good friends that live there.  We ended up going on our own little mini bar crawl around town and hit up about 5 or 6 bars.  I didn’t eat healthy at all this weekend.  I had some McDonald’s and LaBamba’s mexican.  Oops.

Monday was so insanely busy at work.  I barely had time to eat my breakfast.

At lunch I was stressing out so my boyfriend came to swoop me away from work and we went to Friday’s to get my mind off things.  I got the honey mustard chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries.  My mind was outta this world so I forgot to take a picture.  It was dammmmmmn good though and wasn’t too far off my diet train either.  It also kept me fuller longer than normal, so I was able to not act like an 80 year old at dinner time.  I ate at a normal 20 something year old’s dinner time.

For dinner I made some eggos and strawberries & sugar.  Can’t go wrong with that combo.  It didn’t fill me up though, so later I made some soup too which is unpictured because it was boring 😉

I also ran on the treadmill last night.  It’s been so long since I’ve gotten on the treadmill.  I did a quick 21 minute Interval (HIIT) workout.  I love HIIT training because it’s so quick!  Here was my run.

  1. 4 mph
  2. 4 mph
  3. 7 mph
  4. 7.5 mph
  5. 8 mph
  6. 6 mph
  7. 6 mph
  8. 7 mph
  9. 7.5 mph
  10. 8 mph
  11. 6 mph
  12. 6 mph
  13. 7 mph
  14. 7.5 mph
  15. 8 mph
  16. 6 mph
  17. 6 mph
  18. 8 mph
  19. 8 mph
  20. 6 mph
  21. 4 mph

It was a good run.  It was 2.4 miles and burned 250 calories in 21 minutes.  I actually enjoyed the treadmill last night just because I was able to entertain myself with intervals.

This week is going to be busy at work.  The only fun thing I have planned is grilling out on Wednesday night with our friend who was one of the coaches for Butler.  We’ll go grill out with him, his wife and baby.  It’ll be a good time and I’m sure good food.  This weekend is a couples shower for my friend who is getting married in June.  I’m really not sure what a couples shower is or why people have them…but I’m in the wedding so I’ve gotta go.  Does anyone know if you’re supposed to bring a gift to a couples shower???  I already got her a gift for her bridal shower, then will get her something for her bachelorette party and for the wedding.  Is the couples shower another gift???

Have a good Tuesday!

  1. Breakfast for dinner! Love it!

And yeah- you should probably bring a gift… it’s a lot of money to bring something to each one, but maybe you could go in on one with some of the other bridesmaids? Trust me- I know the pain. I’m in wedding number 6 this year, and have just now gotten the drill down…

  2. Hmm that’s a tough one about the couples shower. I would say bring at LEAST a card. But yea, these wedding functions get out of control. I did not have a couples shower. haha
ps. sweet potato fries are the best!

  3. Id say bring something smaller, since there was already a shower. Maybe even like a gift card to Target or their favorite restaraunt that they could use together? But don’t go too crazy on the price because weddings are money pits to begin with so two showers is kinda redic.
