Kashi Marshmallow Treats

This morning started with some Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal and skim milk.  Have you guys heard of this stuff?  It looks JUST like Captain Crunch but is whole wheat and better for you.  Honestly, it doesn’t taste exactly like Captain Crunch, but it’s similar and very crunchy!  I’m diggin’ it.

Thursday morning started with a couple cuties.  Sorry girls, no pictures of hot guys..just these cuties here..

At lunch, I went to Whole Foods because I wanted to try out the vegetarian chili.  They had some pre-made so I grabbed a cup and ate it in the store.  I love how they have little tables there, so you can just eat in the place.  I HATE eating in my car.  I’m all about the “dining experience”.  My boyfriend rips on me all the time for wanting to eat in everywhere we go.

The chili was good, but a little to spicy for me.  I probably won’t get it again, unless I’m craving the feeling of  breathing fire….

Then I went grocery shopping after work to pick up the essentials..milk, eggs, cereal, eggos, laughing cow cheese..etc.

I had the brilliant idea to make a healthier version of rice krispy treats when I was at the store.  I picked up a bag of marshmallows and figured I could make it out of Kashi cereal.  At home, I mixed together my mellows, ICBINB spread, a couple chocolate chips, and a 6 cup mixture of Kashi 7 whole grain cereal and Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal.  The outcome was a success!!! SHWING!

They were a bit to marshmallow-ey and stuck to my fingers like a motha.  Maybe today they will be less sticky when I indulge my face into them later.  I cut the batch into 24 pieces, where each piece has 85 calories.  Next time, I’d use less mellows to make it less sticky and more healthy.  I’ll definitely be making these again though.

Dinner was an egg and turkey bacon sandwich.  Never fails.

No fitness for me again last night.  I probably won’t do any tonight either, just because I want to rest up for my big race on Saturday!  Race Preview post coming up next.  Have a great Friday!!

Oh and here is Max’s newest toy that he’s in love with 🙂  He carries it around like it’s his baby and he got sad when the stuffing started pouring out of it last night when he was playing.  What a cutie.

  1. Are you doing the Komen run Saturday? I’ll be out there but I’m walking it with some non-runner friends. I’d say “see ya out there!” but with 40k people I probably won’t! Hehe. Good luck on your 5k!

    • Yep, it’s the Komen run. I doubt I’d see ya in that many people, but that’d be funny if I do! I hope you have a good run/walk too. It’s my first time doing the Komen, so it’ll be an experience I’m sure.
