Bridal Shower Threads

It was a productive Monday.  After work I cooked some dinner for the bf and I.  I made some chicken, veggies, pasta and bread.  It was good except I put a little to much seasoned salt on the chicken when cooking, so it was a bit salty.  I tried the Steamfresh veggies that you just pop t he whole bag in the microwave and it was REALLY good! I was surprised the veggies tasted fresh and great.  I’ll definitely have to make some more of those suckers.

I went for a run last night but once again I had to go to the bathroom a mile and a half into my run!  WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ME!!! It ruins my run and it gets worse the more I run, so I end up walking the rest of the time.  I had a great run going too, until my stupid body told me I had to potty.  I really have to start making it a point to use the restroom RIGHT before I go for a run.  Hopefully that will help.  You think I’d learn by this point.  On a better note, I found this really cool pocket in the neighborhood that I loved running in.  It’s all grassy yards around here, and then all the sudden you find this sweet area that’s just lined with humungo trees everywhere.  It will be a nice path to take when it’s really hot out since it’s almost all shade.

Afterwards I went to run errands to get a bridal shower gift and to try to find a dress to wear to the bridal shower I’m going to this weekend.  I always think it’s so weird buying you friends something off their registry.  It’s just so strange buying my friend a pan and a rug!  Does anyone feel this way?  I know they technically WANT the gift, but how random is it that I’m going to show up at her bridal shower on saturday with a rug and pan in hand and that’s acceptable?  Haha I don’t know, maybe it’s just me.

No luck on a dress yet.  I found one at Express that I have my eye on, but I’ve gotta decide.  Do you guys think this is bridal shower appropriate, or is it more of a going out type of dress (even though we’ll be going out after the shower)  Please excuse my clashing socks…it was right after my run.  Cut me some slack.

Is it bridal shower appropriate?

  1. haha! cute! I’ll have to remember next time I’m in the dressing room I have a whole community of bloggers to help me make up my mind! I think it’s totally shower appropriate. Plus, I always say you can get away with anything as long as you wear it with confidence. 😛

  2. That is a cute dress! Each bridal shower is different, so I don’t know what to tell you- but I would hold off on the heels- maybe pair it with strappy flats or something and you could make it a more afternoonish dress…

Yeah, the registry thing blows. I’ve done my share of them. And I’m not above giftcards… then I feel less weird instead of coming with a bag full of kitchen appliances… lol

  3. I think its really cute! Maybe wear a little sweater or something for the shower? Then you could use it again as a going out dress.

As much as I hate registry shopping…I can’t wait to get married so that I can register! It looks sooooooo fun.

    • Yeah, good call. Maybe I should wear a little white cardigan sweater over it. That will dress it down a bit. Then when we go out later I can take it off or keep it on. THANKS!

  4. The dress is soooo cute! I love it! I think the dress is 100% bridal shower appropriate!

Those steam fresh veggies are great! I don’t have a microwave so when I make them I cook it in a skillet on the stove and they come out great! Sometimes you can get a really good deal on them too. The portion sizes are perfect for two!
