Date Night

Lunch was an always amazing Which Wich Sandwich.  That place always makes me happy.  Instead of eating inside, I took it to go and ate it in the car.  I am the type of person who doesn’t mind going to lunch by myself from work.  I’m perfectly content going somewhere to eat and sitting by myself and enjoying my food.  I know a lot of people who would never do that, but I actually like it.  Yesterday was different because I saw two women in the restaurant who I knew and I didn’t want them to feel obligated to sit with me and all that awkwardness so I just took it and ate it in my car.  How do you feel about this?  Can you eat out at a public restaurant by yourself or are you to embarrassed?

After work, my oh so cute boyfriend asked me on a date!   We’ve been dating for over 2 years and it was really cute.  He just told me that he wanted to take me on a date and he’d pick a place (THAT NEVER HAPPENS).  He didn’t just say he wanted to go to dinner, or wanna go get some food? He asked me on a date.  It was cute.  Even though this idea came 100% from a movie we watched on Monday night (Did You Hear About The Morgans…by the way is a terrible movie).  I’ll give him a bunch of credit though for being sweet.

He took me to a Mexican joint because he knows that you can count on Mexican food to make me happier than happy!  We had never been to La Jolla and thought we would give it a shot.  The food was pretty good except the salsa left the worst taste in our mouths.  I can seriously still taste it after brushing my teeth like 5 times since then!  Unfortunately I don’t think we will be returning because of that and his tummy hurting all night.  Bummer.

As for my diet…what diet?  I ovERINdulged as I would at any Mexican place.  To top it off, I went home and tried to bake these little chocolate snacks which I learned I would do differently next time around.  Each one was 35 calories.  Not to shabby.

We then went over to visit our poor friend who just got out of knee surgery. Thank you all so much for giving me ideas on what to put in his care package.  I ended up going with a bunch of candy, snacks and a video game that he wanted.

When we got to his house, the poor guy was so out of it.  He didn’t even have enough effort to look in the bags, so I still haven’t heard if he liked our gift at all.  He thanked us and we left after about one minute.  I can’t even imagine being down like that.  The worst “surgery” I’ve ever had, which some may never consider a surgery was when I got my wisdom teeth out.

It’s almost the weekend!  SHWING!  (Yep, I said Shwing! My best friend and I have been trying to bring it back for years now)

  1. I’ve heard so much about Which Wich, it bums me out we don’t have any around here!

I totally eat by myself. Sometimes I bring a book, and eat outside by myself. Love.

  2. Loving your blog 🙂 Too cute that your boyf asked you on a date. Glad you guys had fun!!
I kind of enjoy eating by myself, too. Otherwise I feel like you’re obligated to talk, and no one gets to eat! haha. I dunno – maybe I’m weird. But I feel weird eating while someone else is talking to me…so unless it’s a good friend where the “okay, the food is here, it’s time to stop talking and eat” feeling is mutual, I’d rather go it alone 😛

  3. I don’t at all mind eating alone.

I watched “Did you hear about the Morgans” this weekend since the hubby was out of town. I was mildly entertained, but I was also reading magazines and blogs during it 🙂

    • Maybe it was just because I had my boyfriend in my ear the whole time pointing out all the fake and corny things that were happening. I probably would have enjoyed it by myself of with my girl friends.
