Butler, Beer, Brats and Burgers. GO DAWGS!

All I have to say is GO BUTLER BULLDOGS!!!! WE DID IT!!!  One more game baby!  Playing Duke will be a huge challenge, but I think we can do it.  I ended up going out Friday night to see how downtown was like for the final 4 weekend.  It was such an amazing atmosphere down there all weekend.  It was beautiful and I’m so proud of Indy for representing the way it did.  I think this tournament is a great thing for Indianapolis.

We went to a few bars Friday night and then it was time to drink again Saturday afternoon.  My boyfriend’s step dad rented out a private room at a bar downtown and we had all-inclusive drinks and food.  I have no pictures to show you of food, but it was a “ballpark” themed, so it was all burgers, brats and beer.

The city went nuts after the game when we beat Michigan State.  I’m not going to lie, I was one of those out of control drunks screaming and high-five-ing everyone.

On Sunday we went to meet up with our friend who’s one of the coaches for Butler and he gave us tickets to go check out Bracket Town.  Bracket Town is a huge event hosted at the convention center with interactive basketball games everywhere.  It was awesome!  I went with my boyfriend and one of our other friends.  Unfortunately, the boys were doing some game and had quite a bit of a crowd watching them as they played.  My friend went up to dunk and when he jumped up, his knee gave out on him and we ended up at the hospital.  He tore is patellar tendon in his knee (which is worse than an ACL tear) and has to have surgery this week.  I feel so bad for him.  He was told that throughout the weekend he was the only one who had gotten injured.  Ironically, he was also told that he was probably the most athletic guy who they had seen at the convention all weekend (he’s an all american collegiate athlete) and somehow even the strongest bodies are the ones who can get hurt the most.  This reminded me of a lot of you blogging girls out there who seem to be in such great shape, but their legs are hurt.  It’s so unfortunate.

So the weekend was unbelievable, but too bad we ended up in the ER and didn’t get to sleep until about 3am last night.  Not sure what we’re doing for the game tonight, but either way, YOU BETTER WATCH AND CHEER ON THE DAWGS!

Sorry, I know this was the opposite from my usual food post, but I’m really excited.
