GO BUTLER!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!  Butler weekend is finally here.  Indy is getting crazy as the NCAA tournament and big game is getting closer.  Since we are not going to the game anymore, we are renting out a private room at one of the popular bars with all you can drink and eat for 3 hours.  Should be a great time.  It will be unbelievable if Butler can pull through this and make it to the championship.  I already went out and bought my cute new Butler shirt to rock to the bar.  So stoked!

Thursday started with a piece of Aunt Millies bread and a Cutie mandarin.

With all of our new groceries, I knew I had to run home for lunch to eat.  I made Eggo Waffles that have seriously been missing from my life for to long.  I used to eat these things all the time and I think I just re-ignited my love for them.

I also had a string cheese after.  I know..weird combo, but it satisfied my hunger.  After work I put together a chicken parmesan on whole wheat pasta meal.  It turned out pretty good and REALLY filled me up.

At the grocery store this week I was devastated to not find my Klondike bars that I’ve been obsessed with.  I had to resort to these ice cream Krunch bars.  It was good, but nothing compares to my Klondikes.

After watching the last episode of the Real World – DC, which I think was by far the worst season in a long time, I decided to go for a run outside.  It got up to the 80s again here and I was all carb’d up and ready to go.  I ran a 5k distance, but had to stop and walk a couple of times.  I don’t know why I can’t just run all the way through the 3.1 miles.  I think it’s more mental to me.  If I stop and walk for just 1 minute, I feel refreshed and can start again.  I think if I just slowed down a little, I could get that refreshment, but mentally I like to walk I think.  I know..I’m weird.  I tried to run for a while, and then sprint to a point that I had marked ahead of me in the road.  I’d tell myself “okay, sprint to that mailbox, then you can walk. ” It ended up working out and I like my “spot and sprint” technique.

I then headed to the mall to try to find my Butler shirt.  I ended up buying 6 shirts for others too.  These shirts were flying off the racks in Indy.  Finally, after the mall I came home to have another snack and get ready for bed.  Snack was just a piece of toast with ICBINB spread.

Everyone have a great and safe weekend!  If you happen to watch the NCAA tourney, make sure to cheer for the BUTLER BULLDOGS!  They are the smallest school still in the tourney with the smallest team too.

  1. Interval sprints are awesome, they help build up your distance when running! That was one of the hardest things to train myself when I began running outside was looking at mailboxes and telephone poles…I felt like it took forever for them to come! Have a great weekend, sounds like you’ll have so much fun!

    • You’re right, it does seem like it takes forever for that stinkin’ mailbox or tree to get closer. It seems a lot closer before the sprint haha.

  2. I’ve always been a sprint and slow runner, but the trick is making yourself go a little further each day before slowing to a walk.

And I gave up on The Real World about mid season this season. I seriously saw nothing valuable there!
