Hungry Girl

eyyylloooo!  Happy Thursday.  We’re almost to the weekend, kids!  Hang in there.

Wednesday was filled with sunshine, a run, books, food and house flippin’.  I started the day with some oatmeal.  I just can’t get myself to like this stuff.  I want to like it, but just don’t.  I think I need to find some good mix-ins that are low cal for me to like it.  I just had plain oats with cinnamon.

I’ve been on a little fast food restaurant salad tour lately so I decided to try out an Arby’s salad.  I did my research online first and then went for the Chopped Turkey Club salad.  The dressing options they had there were just terrible so I asked if they would give me some fresh lemon slices and I squeezed them onto the salad for a nice fresh topping.  Overall it was a good salad except I forgot to mention to hold the onions.  I HATE onions.  They have such a distinct and strong flavor!  I do like fried onion rings but that’s probably just because I like anything fried.

I had another din-din where I should really be sent to a retirement home for.  I think I ate at 4:45 pm.  I was to hungry and I know that I should eat when my body tells me to.  I made a pizza on a low carb tortilla.  I’m the biggest fan of pizza and am never one to hate on pizza, but this was just to thin!!!  Maybe it’s because I lived my whole life in Chicago and I’m a pizza snob now, but I need more of a crust then just a tortilla.

I went for a run afterwards with Max.  It was such a beautiful day outside!  I think the temps almost hit 80 around here.  Max begged and begged me to take him with me this time, so that’s what I did.  He was pretty much a dead weight on my run.  I don’t know what was up with him but he was sluggin’ big time.  I kept having to root him on and try to get him excited to run a little faster.  I hope no neighbors heard me! It was also an arm work out becuase I had to keep pulling his leash to get him to stop gawking over other dogs in the yards.  After the run, I swear he was heavy breathing for a good hour.  I’d never noticed how long his sweaty tounge can be, until after this run .  I ran 2.26 miles.  Sorry the pic is a little blurry because I did it on my iPod and not my iPhone this time.

Afterwards I wanted to run to Borders to get the cookbook that I’ve been waiting to buy.  It just came out on Tuesday and I’m so excited to try some new recipes.  I got the newest HUNGRY GIRL book!!!

I have her first book and I love all the recipes and ways that she changes up recipes to make them healthier.  She uses the most creative ways to change recipes to make them the easiest, most delicious, guilt-free recipes on the planet as she would say.

The BF and I then went to the house he’s flipping and I got to see the progress they made since Saturday.  It was such a change.  I can’t believe they went from having a gutted house with half walls torn off to having dry wall up all over the house.  It looked like a new place!  Shoot..I forgot to take a picture of that bathroom that I showed you guys last time.  Oh well, I’ll take one when it’s done.

We then went grocery shopping together.  This rarely happens, but when it does, we end up getting a ton of stuff.  He bought a ton of food for himself that will for sure be temptation foods for me, I’ll just have to power through the temptation when looking for dinners at night.  After bringing it all home, I was starving already so I made a Morning Star burger and baked lays.  I went to bed happy (after washing some trashy reality TV shows of course).

Are there any trashy reality shows that you watch and don’t like to admit to?

I watched Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too last night.  It was interesting to say the least.  I’m sure I’ll end up watching it again because I’m a sucker for really lame reality show trash haha.

    • Yeah I always request them to be left out too, but somehow I forgot. The worst part is you end up smelling like onion after you eat them. I think I do at least. Yuck.

  1. For your oats, you should cook them in milk/low cal soy milk (its really low cal and so creamy, better than skimmed milk but tastes like milk!) and cook with half a banana chopped up in it with the cinnamon! It’s soooo good! Try it 🙂

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog – let me know what you think of the HG book. I’m thinking about buying it – i LOVED her first one, wasn’t a huge fan of the second one.
