Running The Monon Trail

First of all, BUTLER plays tonight.  Go BULLDOGS!!  I’m really doubting that they win, but if they pull it off, I’ll be a happy girl.  If Butler makes it to the final 4, I have someone who said they will buy me and my friends tickets to the game and limo rides!! COMEON BULLDOGS!!!

Yesterday started with a bowl of Kashi 7 Grain cereal and almond breeze vanilla milk at my desk.  This cereal kind of reminds me of eating a rice cake.  It’s like little pieces of popcorn, but not as sweet.  I liked it, but I was starving by lunch time.

Kashi Cereal

I was good and went  home for lunch and was eager to try out a Chocolate Oatmeal Pancake, thanks to Caitlin for the idea.  I changed mine to be chocolate instead of pumpkin.  I also had a side of grapes.

  grapes

  • 1 Package of weight control maple & brown sugar oatmeal
  • 2 Tablespoons almond milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 Cup of Ghiradelli Unsweetened Cocoa

It was good. It was like a desert.  It doesn’t look to good in the picture, and I felt like it needed something like whipped cream to top it off 🙂

Pancake + Grapes = 330 Calories

Dinner consisted of one of my all time faves – grilled cheese and chicken noodle souppppers!

Grilled Cheese and Soup

You may think it’s weird that I eat ketchup with my grilled cheese.  I love ketchup and I will eat it on everything!!!

Are there any foods that you combine that people think you are weird for doing?

I think my strangest combination is french fries dipped into my ice cream.  ESPECIALLY at McDonald’s.  So So So good.

I have been eyeing this trail in my area for some time now.  It’s called the Monon Trail and it runs through Indianapolis.  It’s really popular and supposed to be a great run.  It splits all over the city so you can access it in all areas of Indy.  I enjoyed running in a scenic area.  I ran over bridges and through Indy’s popular Broadripple area.  It was a nice change.  I ran about a mile and a half each way and finished with my Nike Plus showing me:

28:50 5k.  Not too shabby.  I stopped to walk a couple times and managed to snap this picture crossing one of the bridges.  I know it’s no Lakeshore Drive in Chicago, or running on a beach, but it’s best Indy’s got and I’ll take it!

HAHAHA! Looking at this picture on the computer makes it look so so so so so sad.  It’s brown nasty water and trees with no leaves.  I swear it looked better when I was running!

After my run, I ran some errands and had one of these for a snack.

Max stared down my string cheese as I ate it.  He was already mad at me because I had gone on a run and didn’t take him.  Poor guy.

Today’s Thursday and I’m excited for this weekend.  MY DAD IS COMING IN TOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  He gets in Friday and I can’t wait to see him 🙂 I’m a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge daddy’s girl 🙂

HAVE A TERRIFIC THURSDAY!  GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BUTLER!!!!!!!!!!!
