When I moved to Indiana, It was the first time I was graced with the opportunity to see the Shake Weight commercial. Has anyone seen this commercial? It blows my mind!!!! If you’ve never seen it, here’s a picture of it. I actually saw it at Target yesterday. I don’t think that Chicago-ins were lucky enough to see this commercial, unless I just moved to Indy at the perfect time when the ad started to air.
First of all, this is supposed to be used to work out to shape and tone your arms. This is nothing more than shaking a bottle of water. Second of all, it’s a very sexually suggestive hand motion that the women are doing in the commercial. With their stupid smiles on their faces, making this insane hand gesture, you can’t help but giggle.
I wonder if the creators of this brilliant device thought about how ridiculous it looked in their marketing campaign. Maybe that’s why they did it, to make it a gag gift that will get a lot of attention. Who knows.
I seriously think this is the commercial of the year!

I haven’t seen it actually air, but I have seen reports on the news and on E! making fun of it… because yes, it looks naughty… lol.

OMG!! I have seen the commercial and I can remember laughing so hard. Anything for a paycheck I guess. You have to remember sex sells, I’m sure some advertising nut job came up with that product, giving false hopes the flabby armed community.
