Adios 10 lbs!!

131.0

Today is a big day…I’ve reached my first goal!!  I’ve lost 10 lbs!!! What a great feeling 🙂  I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read my blog and comment.  It has truly helped me in my mission to lose some weight.  I never realized how much of an impact blogging could have on me, but I already love blogging.  I feel like I’ve met some really cool people already and I just started!  THANK YOU.

This week my weight has just flown off.  I think there’s a good chance it’s because I’m eating more salads than I’ve ever eaten in my life.  Okay, I’ve only had 2 this week (plus 1 planned for a lunch meeting today), but that’s still a lot to me!

Because I really enjoyed my McDonald’s Southwest salad on Tuesday, I tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch salad from McDonald’s yesterday.  Instead of the ranch, I got the low fat Italian which was much healthier.  The salad was pretty good and I felt naughty eating bacon bits.  Overall, I’d recommend the Southwest salad over the Chicken Bacon Ranch salad.

For dinner, I decided to make some banana french toast for the first time in my life.  Yep, I’m typically a terrible cook and only can make a few things that are actually decent.  The french toast turned out great though.  I’m really impressing myself lately with my healthy cooking.

The best part was that this whole meal was less than 400 calories!  it was filling too.  I will definitly be adding this to my cookbook (who am I kidding…I don’t even own a cookbook.  I would add this if I had one though!)

After dinner I decided to give my iFit level 1 card another chance.  I’ll review this later today.  It burned 200 calories.  Afterwards, I didn’t feel like I got enough cardio in, so I just did interval running for 10 minutes to burn another 115 calories and get my sweat on.  I love interval running (HIIT) because it’s a fast pace and it’s over faster.  I always feel like I worked out harder after intervals too. My pace was something like this (1 minute intervals):

  • 7mph
  • 8mph
  • 6mph
  • 7mph
  • 8mph
  • 6mph
  • 9mph
  • 5mph
  • 9mph
  • 4mph

Afterwards I had a craving for more food so I had a whole bunch of reduced fat cheese its.  Yummy.

I’m so stinkin happy that I’ve lost 10 pounds at this point.  I know that numbers of weight really don’t matter (it’s the way you look and feel), but it’s still a way to recognize that you’ve achieved a goal.  After I get to 125, I’m going to work more on toning than weight loss.  I’m well on my way.

Happy Thursday.  It’s almost the weekend!!!
