I wore my Doberman out!

133.8

Last night I got home from work and had the energy to work out right away.  The weather was SOOO nice here so it put me in an instant good mood.  True, the weather was only a high of 55 but to me, it was beautiful!  I tried out Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred last night for the first time.  Jillian said to start on Level 1, so that’s what I did.  I have mixed feelings for this workout.  I used 5 lb dumbells throughout the strength training.  I felt that the cardio really wasn’t challenging and the abs could have been focused on more as well.  There were some challenging strength exercises and some that were easy for me.  My arms are really sore today, but my legs are only a tiny bit sore.  I can feel in my abs that I did some work on them, but nothing drastic.

How many pound dumbells do you use when doing the Shred?

I don’t think I’m going to do the Shred every day for 3o days, but I’m just going to fit it into my fitness routine to switch things up.  After I did level 1, I felt that I should do more cardio.  I decided since it was a nice day, to go outside and take my dog for a run.  He LOVES running, so when I asked Max “do you want to go for a run?” I swear he ran sprints around the house in circles with a huge smile on his face 🙂 He’s used to seeing me run inside on the treadmill and I haven’t been able to take him out lately because of the weather.

Max and I ran 1.5 miles around the nighborhood and he seemed to be getting tired by the end, so I took him home.  When we got home, he was exhausted!!! He just passed out right in the middle of the room.  Picture is below.

Poor Max! I need to take him running more often!

Does anyone know how many calories are typically burned during the Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred – Level 1?

I had no idea how many to log, so I just guessed 100.

Have a great Tuesday 🙂

  1. I burn 150 – 200 Calories doing Level 1 on the 30 Day Shred. You get more of a burn doing Yoga Meltdown Level 2 in 30 minutes 200 -250.

I guess it varies depending on the intensity you put in your workout, heart rate, and age.
